The frst full week of the 2019 College Football season is here and we are proud to be covering it as we open our third Point Spread Weekly campaign. It’s hard to believe that VSiN already has two full years of PSW under its belt, and as much as I’d love to reminisce, I’ll save that for another time and just plunge right into this week’s issue!
Of course, college football gets our focus for the week, with contributions from nearly all of our key experts. Matt Youmans and Dave Tuley will be with us all year long, not only providing us with their selections on feature games AND their overall Best Bets, but also weekly columns on games to watch and articles featuring handicapping tips and strategies. Bruce Marshall of Gold Sheet is also a regular, providing trends for all the games.
I provide a weekly handicapping piece and my analysis typically goes heavy into historical research, using it to project future possibilities. For instance, this week, I reveal my long-running college football strategy piece on Team Instability. I quantify each of the 130 FBS teams’ Stability Ratings using a formula I’ve employed for many years and I take these ratings and fnd Stability Mismatches on this week’s schedule.
For those of you that are new to Point Spread Weekly for season #3, and here because of what you’ve heard about our football coverage, PSW is not only a football pub and you’ll see that in this issue we also cover MLB, NASCAR, Golf, MMA, and WNBA. Oh, of course, NFL, too.
Before I forget…I am Steve Makinen and I have served as the editor of this fantastic venture since the beginning, I have watched it grow faster than I ever imagined. I have spent a lot of time on both sides of the counter and have been able to expand my knowledge in key areas of numbers’ making and logic. I try and pass as much of this on to you as space allows, both in my articles and in the Strength Ratings I publish weekly. By the way you’ll fnd an explanation of using those ratings in this week’s issue.
With a name coined by none other than the legend, Brent Musburger, the purpose of this publication is clear, helping you become a more informed bettor. As Brent says…“Cashing tickets is what it’s all about!”
So thank you for downloading this week’s issue. If you like what you see, and if you haven’t done so yet, we encourage you to sign up for the season-long subscription, 52 weekly issues. You can fnd payment plans at vsin.com/subscribe.
