With college bowl season opening Dec. 17, here’s a look at which bowl-bound teams are hot and which are not, as well as teams that have had big Over or Under runs this season.
HOT TEAMS
Baylor went 9-3 ATS in its final 12 games.
Central Michigan won SU and ATS in its final four games.
Clemson was 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in its final five games after an 0-7 ATS start.
Georgia State was 6-1 SU and ATS in its last seven games.
Michigan was a sterling 11-2 ATS in the 2021 season.
Michigan State boasts a 9-3 ATS mark heading into bowl season.
Minnesota rallied for a 6-2 SU and ATS finish to the regular season.
Mississippi State’s five-game ATS winning streak was snapped in its finale.
North Texas closed the season on runs of 5-0 SU and 6-0 ATS.
Notre Dame rides seven-game SU and ATS winning streaks into its bowl game.
Oklahoma State was 9-1-1 ATS in its final 11 games.
Old Dominion qualified for a bowl game after winning its last five games SU and ATS.
Pittsburgh was 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS in its final 10 games.
Tulsa won its final four games against the spread.
UAB was 7-2-1 ATS in its final 10 games.
Utah State rallied for wins in six of its final seven games SU and ATS.
Western Kentucky had a seven-game SU and five-game ATS winning streak snapped in its finale.
Washington State had an 8-1 ATS record in its final nine games.
COLD TEAMS
Auburn lost its final four games while going 1-3 ATS.
Ball State was just 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS in its final five games.
Boston College closed the season on runs of 2-6 SU and 2-5 ATS.
BYU was just 2-5 ATS in its final seven games.
Coastal Carolina covered just one of its last six games.
Florida lost its final six games ATS while going 2-4 SU.
Liberty was just 1-5 ATS in its final six games.
Maryland reached a bowl game despite a 2-6 SU and 1-7 ATS finish.
Memphis closed the season on a 3-6 SU and 2-7 ATS slide.
San Diego State was just 1-4-1 ATS in its last six games.
SMU closed the season on a 1-4 SU and ATS skid.
UCF covered the point spread in just three of its final 10 games.
Virginia backed into its bowl game by losing its final four games.
Virginia Tech reached a bowl game despite a 4-6 SU and 3-7 ATS finish.
BIG OVER-THE-TOTAL RUNS
Houston closed the season on a 7-3 Over-the-total run.
Iowa’s final four games went Over the total.
Nevada went Over the total in eight of its final 11 games.
Tennessee went 9-2 Over the total after a season-opening Under.
Toledo’s last four games went Over the total as the Rockets scored 45.5 ppg.
BIG UNDER-THE-TOTAL RUNS
Appalachian State went 6-2 Under the total in its last eight games.
Auburn was 6-2 Under the total in its final eight games.
Ball State closed the season on a 5-0 Under-the-total run.
The final four games of Baylor’s season went Under the total.
Nine of Boise State’s final 10 games went Under the total.
Boston College closed its season with seven Unders in eight games.
Five of Georgia State’s final six games went Under the total.
Kansas State was 5-1 Under the total in its final six games.
Louisiana’s 2021 season featured 10 Unders and three Overs.
Six of Marshall’s final eight games went Under the total.
The final seven games of Ole Miss’ season went Under the total.
Penn State was 9-3 Under the total in the 2021 season.
South Carolina State’s last seven games went Under the total.
