Week 17 of the very unique 2020 NFL season is here.
With COVID-19 concerns in several games, be sure to check injury reports as we get closer to kickoff. Our experts Drew Dinsick, Dave Tuley and Matt Youmans combine to give their opinions on every game.
All odds as of Thursday evening, from VSiN's NFL odds page.
SUNDAY
Dallas Cowboys (-1.5, 45) at New York Giants
Tuley: The winner of this game only claims the NFC East if Washington loses on Sunday night. The Cowboys are playing better recently with three straight wins, but I still have no faith in that defense and this could turn into a shootout like the Cowboys’ 37-34 win in the first meeting. I’d still prefer if Daniel Jones starts, but confident Colt McCoy could get the job done against the Dallas defense, too.
This is also a good spot to list the teasers we’re considering that capture the key numbers of 3 and 7. These have been very profitable for us all season (hopefully you’ve been following along in Point Spread Weekly or here in these weekend updates at VSiN.com) and went 6-2 last week, as only the Texans and Rams failed us. Along with the Giants + 7.5 (note: it was + 8.5/+ 9 earlier in PSW), we are using the following in our two- and three-team 6-point teaser portfolio: Dolphins up to + 9 at Bills, Titans down to -1.5 at Texans, Jets up to + 9 at Patriots, Vikings down to -0.5 at Lions and Broncos up to + 8.5 vs. Raiders (also adding some tickets with Rams teased up to + 9 as this game was off the board when PSW was published).
Pick: Pass at Giants + 1.5, but using Giants in teasers
Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills (-3, 43)
Tuley: The Dolphins need to win to clinch a wild-card spot while the Bills still want to win to keep the No. 2 seed in the AFC (and ensure a home game in the conference semifinals if they get there), so that’s the only thing that’s kept this from flipping to the Dolphins being favored. Ryan Fitzpatrick tested positive for COVID-19, but he wasn’t going to start anyway (though Miami obviously would like to have him as a super sub).
