Wednesday NBA Playoffs Sharp Report

Today bettors have another loaded slate to choose from including 2 NBA playoff games, 3 NHL playoff games and 15 MLB games. For an updated breakdown of Wednesday's betting action, be sure to tune in to the VSiN Market Insights Podcast with Josh Appelbaum. It will be posted at 3 p.m. ET. I'll also be co-hosting Betting Across America with Mike Pritchard from 3 to 4 p.m. ET.

In the meantime, let's discuss where smart money is leaning for tonight's NBA playoff doubleheader...

7 p.m. ET: Milwaukee Bucks at Boston Celtics

This is Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The series is tied 2-2. The Celtics are coming off a 116-108 victory in Game 4, winning outright as 1.5-point road favorites. Now the series shifts back to Boston. This line opened with the Celtics listed as a 5-point home favorite. The public is happy to grab the points with the defending champions. However, we've actually seen this line move further to Boston (-5 to -5.5). This signals sharp reverse line movement on Boston with pros "fading the trendy dog" and laying the points with the contrarian favorite. Favorites are 40-27 ATS (60%) this postseason. Home teams are 14-4 ATS (78%) in the Conference Semifinals. The total hasn't budged off the opener of 214.5. The under is 3-1 this series. Unders are 44-23 (66%) this postseason. With the series tied 2-2, Boston is a -190 favorite to advance. The Bucks are +155 dogs.

9:30 P.M. ET: Golden State Warriors at Memphis Grizzlies

This is Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The Warriors lead the series 3-1 and can eliminate the Grizzlies with a win tonight. Golden State is coming off a 101-98 victory in Game 4, although the Warriors failed to cover as 9.5-point home favorites. Now the series shifts to Memphis. This line opened with Golden State listed as a 3-point road favorite. Respected money has laid the chalk with the Warriors, steaming Golden State up from -3 to -4. Favorites with a line move in their favor are 23-10 ATS (70%) this postseason. Favorites are 50-17 (75%) straight up this postseason. Golden State is -170 on the moneyline. Once again, Memphis will be without star guard Ja Morant (knee). Pros have also targeted the under, dropping the total from 219.5 to 218.5. Unders that fall at least a half point are 25-10 (71%) this postseason. Leading 3-1, the Warriors are -5000 favorites to win the series. Memphis is a +1600 dog. The Warriors are the favorite to win the Western Conference (-120) and the NBA Title (+210).
