In the meantime, let's discuss where the money is flowing for a trio of MLB games today.
7:05 p.m. ET: Detroit Tigers (55-60) at Baltimore Orioles (38-73)
The Tigers cruised in Tuesday night's series opener, winning 9-4 as -130 road favorites. The slumping Orioles have now lost six straight games. In tonight's rematch, Detroit sends out lefty Tarik Skubal (7-10, 4.32 ERA) and Baltimore starts veteran righty Matt Harvey (6-10, 6.13 ERA). This line opened at a true pick'em with both sides listed at -105 odds. Wiseguys have pounced on Detroit, steaming the Tigers up from -105 to -115. Road favorites coming off a big win of 5-runs or more have gone 71-33 (68.3%) this season, winning roughly + 17 units. Detroit is 10-6 as a favorite. Baltimore is 35-65 as a dog. We could also be looking at a higher scoring game. Sharps have hit the over, driving the total up from 10 to 10.5. The forecast calls for ideal hitting conditions, with temperatures in the high 80s and 7-10 MPH winds blowing out to left center. Camden Yards is the 2nd-best over stadium in baseball, with the over going 32-19-1 (63%).
7:10 p.m. ET: Oakland Athletics (65-48) at Cleveland Indians (55-56)
The Athletics took last night's series opener 4-3, cashing as -140 road favorites. It marked the 5th straight win for Oakland, who now trail the first-place Astros by just 2-games in the AL West. Oakland is + 475 to catch Houston and win the AL West. In tonight's rematch, the Athletics send out veteran righty Frankie Montas (9-8, 4.10 ERA) and the Indians counter with righty Cal Quantrill (3-2, 3.14 ERA). This line opened with Oakland listed as a -130 road favorite and Cleveland a + 120 home dog. Sharps are riding the red-hot Athletics, steaming Oakland up from -130 to -140. Non-division favorites receiving 10-cents of steam or more are 222-138 (61.7%) this season. Short road favorites -150 or less coming off a win are 124-87 (58.8%), winning roughly + 13 units. The Athletics are + 62 in run differential. The Indians are -26. Oakland is 49-29 as a favorite. Cleveland is 25-36 as a dog.
7:20 p.m. ET: Cincinnati Reds (61-53) at Atlanta Braves (58-55)
Both of these non-division foes are battling for their playoff lives. Cincinnati is 4.5-games back of the second Wild Card spot and the Braves are 1-game back of the NL East leading Phillies. The Braves eked out a 3-2 win in last night's series opener, cashing as -115 home favorites. In tonight's rematch, the Reds give the ball to veteran lefty Wade Miley (9-4, 2.75 ERA) and the Braves rebuttal with righty Touki Toussaint (1-2, 4.43 ERA). This line opened at a pick'em with both sides listed at -105. The public is split and doesn't know who to back. But we've seen pros quietly side the Braves, pushing Atlanta up from -105 to -110.
