In the meantime, let's discuss a few college hoops games today receiving notable line movement...
7 p.m. ET: Seton Hall at Providence
This Big East showdown has taken in some respected money to the over. The total opened at 141 and has quickly ticked up to 142. Some books are touching 142.5. Ken Pom has a projected final score of 143, signaling a slight over edge. Both teams are averaging 70+ points for and against this season. The over is 9-8 in Seton Hall games and 10-7 in Providence games. The total has gone over in three straight matchups between these teams and four of their last six overall.
7 p.m. ET: Louisville at Syracuse
The public isn't sure what to do with this ACC grudge match. Louisville has a slightly better record (11-4 vs 10-5) but Syracuse is at home laying a very short number. But pros seem to have made up their minds. After opening with Syracuse listed as a 1-point home favorite this line has jumped to Cuse -2. The Orange have been money at home this season, going 9-1 straight up. Louisville is 8-1 at home but just 3-3 on the road. Syracuse also has a one-day rest advantage, having last played on Sunday while Louisville played Monday. Ken Pom has Syracuse winning this game by one point. As a result, bettors may rather take Syracuse on the moneyline instead of laying the points.
7 p.m. ET: VMI at Wofford
This Southern Conference matchup has taken in some respected money to the under. The total opened at 149.5 or even 150 across the board and immediately dropped to 149 or even 148.5. One reason to lean under here is the fact that Wofford plays at one of the slowest paces in the country (65.7). This under also matches the "good field goal shooting teams" under system. When both teams shoot 45% or more from the field, the under is 55% this season. We've also seen the under win at a 54% clip when it opens in the 140-150 range and either stays the same or falls at least a half point. The under has cashed in two straight VMI games and three straight Wofford games.
9 p.m. ET: SMU at Tulsa
These two rivals are neck-and-neck in the American Conference standings. SMU opened as a 1-point road favorite and the public seems to be leaning on Tulsa getting a point at home. Why? Maybe it has something to do with SMU just getting blown out by Houston 70-48 while Tulsa is coming off a 77-68 win over East Carolina. Nevertheless, we've seen SMU jump up from -1 to -2 behind an overload of early respected money. SMU also has buy-low value as a bounce-back road favorite off a blowout loss. Ken Pom has SMU winning this game by one point, which means bettors might rather be looking to take SMU on the moneyline instead of laying the points. Ken Pom has SMU ranked 59th in the country and Tulsa 88th.
