2019 VSiN BEAT THE SPREAD CHALLENGE

Official Rules

No entry fees required

The 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge is a contest based on the 2019 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament (the “Tournament”) designed for participants to demonstrate their skill at making correct selections against the spread on Tournament games. It will be played by accessing the VSiN.com web site and complying with the following Official Rules.

VSiN is an acronym for Vegas Stats and Information Network, which is owned and operated by the Vegas Sports Information Network, a Nevada corporation.

The 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge is not affiliated with or sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Participants in the 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge shall receive 1,000 VSiN tokens (non-cash) into their accounts to make simulated wagers on each game of the Tournament. Wins and losses will be based on a 1-1 ratio of the amount wagered. A Grand Prize will be awarded to the Participant who has accumulated the most tokens at the conclusion of the Tournament. In addition, the Participant with the highest token balance in each individual round (not cumulative) for Rounds 1, 2 and 3 will receive a Prize.

The tokens have no monetary value and are being utilized solely to track player performance throughout the contest.  The tokens are not redeemable or transferrable and shall remain the property of VSiN.

To be eligible for the Grand Prize, Participants must complete registration and make their selections in the web application by thirty (30) minutes prior to the tip-off of the first game of the Tournament on Thursday (based on the time stamp in our contest platform), March 21, 2019. The play-in games are not included in the contest. Participants may still register and make their selections at any time during the Tournament, but will only be eligible for prizes for the Rounds of the Tournament that have not been completed, and will not be eligible for the Grand Prize. For instance, if a Participant registers and makes selections within thirty (30) minutes of the tip-off of the first game to be played on Saturday, March 23, 2019 (the first day of the Second Round), he or she will not be eligible for the Grand Prize or the First-Round prizes, but will still be eligible for Second-Round prizes and beyond (except for the Grand Prize). The deadline for each Round always will be thirty (30) minutes prior to the scheduled tip-off of the first game for that Round.

Only those people who have an active annual subscription to VSiN’s All-Access Package, which extends through the date of the NCAA Championship game, to be played on April 8, 2019, are automatically eligible to participate, and are thereby entitled to one 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge entry. Participants will be eligible to participate in the contest via the Beat the Spread Challenge web application on the VSiN.com website by logging into their VSiN All-Access account.

There are no entry fees required to participate in the 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge.

Registration for the 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge shall begin on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 12:01 a.m. by accessing the VSiN.com web site and following the rules and procedures outlined on the 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge web application.

Participants, based on their skill, knowledge and understanding of the Tournament teams, must make their selections by placing a wager using their token balance and choosing the team they feel will beat the posted spread. (If you are not familiar with the term “spread,” you might want to think of entering a different contest!)

As a tiebreaker, each Participant must also predict the point total for the Tournament Championship Game.

The 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge is open to United States residents of the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States and Washington D.C., but is void in Alaska, Hawaii and elsewhere as may be prohibited by law. Participants must also be at least eighteen (18) years of age or the age of legal majority in their state of primary residence at time of registration. Each Participant must be either the rightful owner of the e-mail address identified in the Participant’s registration form or have specific permission to use the email address from the owner of the email account at the time of registration. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner, the decision of VSiN shall be final. Employees, shareholders, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of VSiN and its respective parent company, and their immediate family members, are ineligible to participate in the 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge.

Participants will make their predictions by making a wager using their token balance and selecting the team they feel will beat the spread. Spreads on each Tournament game will be based on the opening lines provided by VSiN oddsmakers. Participants will make their selections from the opening spreads for each Tournament game, which will be posted on the 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge web application available only on VSiN.com. That means the lines for this contest will not change once posted to the bracket. Participants will also be asked to enter their prediction for the total points scored in the Tournament Championship Game. This will serve as a tiebreaker and shall be used to determine the winners of the Grand Prize award in the event of a tie.

Participants must confirm that they have read, understand and agree to these Official Rules and by clicking the “Start Betting” button on the main screen of the web application, acknowledge that they have done so and accepted these official rules.

Participants will earn tokens based on correct predictions of teams covering or not covering the spread and the amount of their token wager in the Tournament games. The four (4) play-in games (the First Four), scheduled to take place prior to the First Round of the Tournament, are NOT included in the 2019 VSiN Beat The Spread Challenge.

At the conclusion of the Tournament, Participants’ token balances will be reviewed and prizes will be awarded to the top scoring Participants as described below. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will apply as follows:
