The Breeders’ Cup is behind us, but Team Tuley keeps looking for value at tracks from coast to coast.
I’m joined this Saturday by my friends, Ed Sehon – aka Mr. Ed from “Mr. Ed’s Saratoga on (about) $100 a Day” column from over the summer – and John Lauro as we have plays at Aqueduct on the East Coas, Churchill Downs in the Midwest and Del Mar on the West Coast.
Good luck today (and every day)!
Aqueduct Races Nos. 1-2 (11:50 a.m. ET/8:50 a.m. PT)
Ed Sehon offers early bird Special Daily Double for Left Coast VSiN followers.
Race 1: #6 Munny Bolt (5-1 morning line)
Race 2: #9 War Canoe (6-1 morning line)
Aqueduct Race No. 4 (1:18 p.m. ET/10:18 a.m. PT)
Ed Sehon likes #6 French Toast (12-1 morning line) “Whenever scanning past performance charts at PARX, I look for horses trained by Juan Carlos Guerrero, who once successfully conditioned for a good friend. Because of his excellent record at PARX, when he vans one up to NY, pay attention. Based on his recent troubled Show finish at Churchill Downs, this $300,000 son of Tapit appears ready to bring home the bacon. Enjoy your breakfast. Wager: Win and Place.”
Churchill Race No. 4 (2:27 p.m. ET/11:27 a.m. PT)
John Lauro likes #6 Runaway Wife (5-1 morning line). “Working great for debut for the hot sire Gun Runner. Strong Win bet on 6 and exacta with #3 Savo Island (3-1).”
Aqueduct Races Nos. 7-10 (2:43 p.m. ET/11:43 a.m. PT)
Ed Sehon likes the following $.50 Pick 4 (cost $60)
Race 7: 1,2,3
Race 8: 3,6
Race 9: 2,4,6,7,8
Race 10: 2,3,5,7
Aqueduct Race No. 9 (3:43 p.m. ET/12:43 p.m. PT)
Dave Tuley likes #3 Harjauku (8-1 morning line) in the Grade 3 Long Island Stakes. “This 3-year-old filly has two U.S. races under her saddle after previously racing in France for legendary trainer Andre Fabre. Now in the Graham Motion barn, she has every right to improve and should be running late in this 1,5-mile turf Grade 3. Wager: Win and Place.”
Aqueduct Race No. 10 (4:13 p.m. ET/1:13 p.m. PT)
Ed Sehon likes #3 Arrest Me Red (3-1 morning line) in the $150,000 Aqueduct Turf Sprint Championship Stakes. “Super-sharp 3-year-old turf sprinter son of Pioneerof the Nile appears poised to pounce in minor stakes after Grade 3 score at Belmont early last month. Speed specialist Wesley Ward trains as Paco Lopez comes up from Florida to ride. Look for Red to complete Pick 4. Wager: Box him in exactas with 2,5 and 7.”
Del Mar Race No. 5 (5:32 p.m. ET/2:32 p.m. PT)
Dave Tuley likes #1 Indian Peak (10-1 morning line) in the Grade 2 Seabiscuit Handicap. “This 4-year-old gelding steps up in class but he has some back class and fits with there. He won his last in an ungraded stakes at Santa Anita and trainer Peter Miller hits at 21 percent with horses off a win, so he knows how to place his horses. In addition, Miller hits at 17 percent in turf races and 15 percent with jockey Juan Hernandez the past two months.”
Note: also check out our A.I. Pick of the Week at vsin.com/horses as we’ve gone 17-for-34 since taking over the feature. There are also more plays from 1ST/BET handicappers on that page at vsin.com/horses.
