Tuley's Thoroughbred Takes for races on Saturday (10/30)

By Dave Tuley  ( senior reporter)

October 30, 2021 05:01 AM

Football season is in full swing, but there’s still time each Saturday to sneak in some horse racing wagers, so Team Tuley continues to look for value at tracks from coast to coast.

This Saturday, Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed from his “Mr. Ed’s Saratoga on (about) $100 a Day” Saratoga column over the summer) has three spot plays, plus a Pick 4 at Keeneland, while I add my two cents (aka two spot plays) as we try to get ready for next weekend’s Breeders’ Cup.

Good luck today (and every day!).

Keeneland Race No. 2 (1:32 p.m. ET/10:32 a.m. PT)

Ed Sehon likes #3 Pearl Earring (7-2 morning line). “Sharp trainer Michael Stidham sends out improving 2-year-old filly for super owner/breeder Godolphin. Journeyman jock James Graham accepts mount. Sharp second over Monmouth turf paves way to strong effort today. Wager: Win and Place.”

Keeneland Race No. 5 (3:08 p.m. ET/12:08 p.m. PT)

Ed Sehon likes three-way exacta of #5 Yin Yang (4-1 morning line), #6 Decree of Love (6-1) and #10 Bhoma (9-2) in first-level turf allowance at 1 1/16 miles. Bet the three-filly box of 5,6 and 10.”

Belmont Race No. 7 (3:47 p.m. ET/12:47 p.m. PT)

Dave Tuley likes #4 Classic Lynne (10-1 morning line) in the $250,000 Maid of the Mist Stakes. “There’s a ton of early speed in this mile race for 2-year-old fillies, so I’m looking for a filly to come off the pace. Classic Lynne broke her maiden last time out when routing for the first time and has a great chance to sit right behind the leaders again and be in position to make that type of move again. Wager: Win and Place.”

Keeneland  Races Nos. 7-10 (4:12 p.m. ET/1:12 p.m. PT)

Ed Sehon likes the following $.50 Pick 4 (cost $60)

Race 7: 2,4,6,7

Race 8: 3,5,9,10,11

Race 9: 1,5,7

Race 10: 1,9

Belmont Race No. 8 (4:21 p.m. ET/1:21 p.m. PT)

Dave Tuley likes #8 Maiden Beauty (6-1 morning line) in the $250,000 Empire Distaff Handicap. “This 5-year-old mare is stepping up in class, but I think she can steal this 1 1/16-mile ungraded stakes race. Trainer Robert Falcone enlists the service of speed jockey Kendrick Carmouche (who won on Classic Lynne last time out), plus Falcone and Carmouche have won 3-of-6 races together.” Wager: Win and Place.”

Belmont Race No. 9 (4:52 p.m. ET/1:52 p.m. PT)

Ed Sehon likes #5 Americanrevolution (7-5 morning). “Super speedy guy towers above rest in $300,000 Empire Classic Handicap at 1 1/8 miles over main oval. Todd Pletcher trains, Luis Saez rides, Mr. Ed wagers to Win.”
