Monday was a great extension of the weekend here in the Tuley’s Takes home off with three MLB playoff games and Monday Night Football.

We lost with the Brewers earlier in the day, but MNF couldn’t have worked out any better for yours truly as our best bet on the Colts + 7 (and I’m hoping most followers got the hook at + 7.5 that was available on gameday) was the right side, but we also ended up closing out a couple 6-point teasers with the Ravens -1 for a nice middle! (We’d love to hear from readers who we helped set that up from our posts last week as we also hit a middle with the Vikings’ win over the Lions.).

Let’s get to our general recaps from last night, and then look at Tuesday’s card.

Monday’s recaps

NFL: Ravens rallied to beat the Colts 31-25 in OT on Monday Night Football to wrap up NFL Week 5 after trailing 22-3. The Ravens did NOT cover after closing as 7.5-point home favorites. The game went Over 46.5 points on the Ravens' last TD in regulation that led to the tying 2-point conversion.

More NFL: Faves went 12-4 SU in Week 5, but just 9-7 ATS as the Colts joined the Lions and Texans as dogs that covered in SU losses. Faves are 47-31 SU on the season with 2 games closing pick-'em (Buccaneers-Rams in Week 3 and Browns-Vikings in Week 4), but underdogs lead 44-34 ATS (56.4 percent). Road teams lead 41-37 SU with two neutral-site games (Packers-Saints in Week 1 and Jets-Falcons in Week 5) and 44-34 ATS (56.4 percent). Overs went 10-6 in Week 5, but Unders still lead 43-37 (53.8 percent) as this was the first week that Overs finished above .500 (8-8 in Week 2 was the prior best). For those wondering about prime-time Overs that started the season 6-0, they were 2-1 in Week 5 and are now 10-5 (66.7 percent) overall.

MLB: Giants (+ 180 road underdog) beat Dodgers 1-0 late Monday to take 2-1 lead in their National League Division Series. The game obviously stayed way Under the betting total of 7.5 runs. Earlier, the Red Sox (-108 home favorite) beat the Rays 6-5 to win their ALDS at 3-1. The game went Over 9.5) and the Braves (-114 home fave) beat the Brewers 3-0 to take a 2-1 lead in their NLDS.

More MLB: Faves went 2-1 on Monday and now lead 9-4 so far in the LDS round. Home teams were also 2-1 and also lead 9-4 in this round. Unders went 2-1 to take a 7-6 overall lead.

Contest Corner

Circa Sports Million has a new leader as HANNIBAL BARCA-1 went 5-0 in Week 5 and is now 22-3 (88 percent) for 22 points (1 point per win, 0.5 per push). STONEY is in 2nd place with 21.5 points. HANNIBAL BARCA-2, the second entry for the same person, is also tied for 3rd place with Mr. Wiggles and JJarvis117 at 21 points.

Circa Survivor has 2,269 live entries after Week 5 as the Top 3 choices had miracle escapes with the Ravens (picked by 253 Survivors) rallying from a 22-3 deficit vs. the Colts on Monday Night football, joining 1,343 entrants that were on the Vikings and 443 on the Patriots. When all was said and done, only 64 were eliminated in Week 5, including two that failed to get in their pick for the week and a high of 54 that used the Raiders.

SuperContest has a new leader with WOLFGANG at 20-4-1 (83.3 percent) for 20.5 points (1 per win, 0.5 per push). There’s a 3-way tie for 2nd with FYTE ON (19-4-2), GAMBLING RATS (20-5) and XERRI 1 (20-5) at 20 points. The SuperContest Gold (the $5,000 winner-take-all version of the SC) leader is MILESTOGO (17-7-1) with 17.5 points.

Tuesday’s Takes

Astros (+ 104) at White Sox: After Monday’s game was postponed, the Astros bring their 2-1 series lead into Tuesday’s game at 2:07 p.m. ET/11:07 a.m. PT. Lance McCullers (14-5, 3.04 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) wheels back from his dominating Game 1 win. The Astros are 7-3 overall against the Sox this year and 3-0 in starts by McCullers.

Giants (+ 145) at Dodgers: The Giants outlasted the Dodgers to win the NL West and continue to be disrespected as underdogs in every game in this series, but are leading 2-1 and going for the series-clincher on Tuesday night. The Dodgers haven't announced a starter overnight (manager Dave Roberts has had success with bullpen games, so maybe he’ll go that route). The game was off the betting boards in Las Vegas as of early this morning, but DraftKings had the Dodgers -155/Giants + 145 with Anthony DeSclafani (13-7, 3.17 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) starting for the Giants.

Good luck today (and every day!).
