In the meantime, let's dive into a handful of MLB games receiving sharp action from respected bettors today...
1:10 p.m. ET: St. Louis Cardinals (32-25) at Tampa Bay Rays (33-23)
The Rays have taken the first two games of this Interleague Series, winning the opener 4-2 as -150 home favorites and winning again 11-3 on Wednesday as -125 home favorites. In this afternoon's series finale, the Cardinals hand the ball to righty Miles Mikolas (4-3, 3.02 ERA) and the Rays counter with ace lefty Shane McClanahan (6-2, 2.10 ERA). This line opened with Tampa Bay listed as a -165 home favorite and St. Louis a +150 road dog. Pros aren't scared off by the big price and have laid the chalk with the Rays, steaming Tampa Bay up from -165 to -180. The Rays are 26-14 as a favorite, 24-18 against righties and 20-13 at home. We could also be looking at a lower-scoring game in this one, as the total is 7 with the under juiced to -120. The under is 8-4 over the last 12 Rays games. Historically, unders have performed better in domes and closed roof stadiums versus outdoor stadiums due to the fact the ball doesn't travel as well.
6:40 p.m. ET: Washington Nationals (21-37) at Miami Marlins (24-30)
The Marlins have taken the first two games of this division series, winning the opener 12-2 as -185 home favorites and winning 2-1 last night as -200 home favorites. In tonight's series finale, Washington starts righty Stephen Strasburg (0-0, 0.00 ERA) who is making his long awaited comeback from injury and season debut. Miami counters with lefty Trevor Rogers (2-5, 5.80 ERA). This line opened with Miami listed as a short -125 home favorite and Washington a +105 road dog. Sharps are fading Strasburg coming back from injury and have steamed Miami up from -125 to -130. The Marlins are 14-10 as a favorite. Washington is 16-33 as a dog and 12-19 on the road. Miami is 7-1 against the Nats this season. The Marlins are +18 in run differential. The Nats are -88.
9:38 p.m. ET: Boston Red Sox (30-27) at Los Angeles Angels (27-31)
The Red Sox have taken the first three games of this four-game series, winning the opener 1-0 as +105 road dogs, taking the second game 6-5 as -135 favorites and then winning 1-0 again last night as -160 road favorites. Boston has now won seven straight while Los Angeles has dropped 14 in a row, tied for the longest losing streak in team history. In tonight's series finale, the Red Sox start righty Nick Pivetta (5-4, 3.50 ERA) and the Angels send out two-way ace Shohei Ohtani (3-4, 3.99 ERA). This line opened with Los Angeles listed as a -140 home favorite and Boston a +120 road dog. Pros aren't outsmarting themselves on this one. They're happy to ride the red-hot Sox at plus money and bet against the ice-cold Angels, as we've seen Boston fall from +120 to +110. Boston holds the edge offensively, hitting .260 while the Angels sit at .242. The total is 7.5 with the over juiced to -120, signaling some over liability. The forecast calls for mid 70s with 5-10 MPH winds blowing out to center.
