Two entries finished tied for the Westgate SuperContest lead and will split the $15,000 bonus for leading after Week 4 of the season-long NFL handicapping contest.
Schematic Advantage pulled into a tie with PHD Sports at 17-3 (85%), thanks to the Chiefs' fumble recovery and touchdown on the final play of the Monday night game--a 29-20 victory over the Redskins. The SuperContest line had the Chiefs as 6.5-point favorites.
The overall consensus (the most picked team in each matchup) improved to 11-5 with the Chiefs' cover.
In the $5,000 SuperContest Gold, BKSF went 4-1 in Week 4 and is the leader at 17-3 (85%). Alas, there is no four-week bonus in the season-long, winner-take-all contest.
The full standings will be released at noon PT on VSiN's "The Edge," broadcast on SiriusXM 204 and VSiN.com.
As I wrote in my SuperContest piece for VSiN on Saturday, the Top 5 Consensus plays will probably end up back around .500.
As it turned out, those who looked to fade the Top 5 Consensus based on its 5-10 (33.3%) record were burned as the plays went 4-1 in Week 4 and are now 9-11 (45%) overall.
The Broncos were the No. 1 choice of the record 2,748 SuperContestants and covered as 3-point home favorites in their 16-10 win over the Raiders. The Chargers lost 26-24 to the Eagles as 1.5-point home faves, but the Giants covered the contest line of plus-3 in their 25-23 loss at Tampa Bay, the Saints routed the Dolphins 20-0 as 3-point faves and the Bengals blew out the Browns 31-7 as 3-point road faves.
