Tennis best bets for the French Open – Tuesday, June 6th

The French Open is the second major of the tennis season, and it’s the only one that is played on clay. This year’s tournament feels a bit different without 14-time champion Rafael Nadal, but the action has been tremendous from both the men and the women. There’s nothing quite like clay-court tennis, and we’ll be here with daily best bets for all the action at Roland Garros. With that said, keep reading for our picks for Tuesday, June 6th. Make sure you also check out the Pro Picks page throughout the course of the tournament, as I’ll have some plays there that you won’t find here.

Karolina Muchova vs. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (Scheduled: 5:00 a.m. ET)

If you listened to our advice to back Muchova to win Quarter 3 at +900 odds, you should either sit this one out or put a few units on Pavlyuchenkova moneyline. But if you’re looking to play this match on its own, Muchova should be able to cover a small 2.5-game spread.

Pavlyuchenkova has been one of the best stories of the tournament thus far, but she has been very fortunate to get this far at Roland Garros. Palvyuchenkova has been on the right side of quite a few three-set matches, but her luck is bound to run out soon. Pavlyuchenkova has to be feeling somewhat exhausted at this point in the event, as she hasn’t played this much tennis in a while. And if she’s not at her absolute best here, there’s a chance she’s going to get pummeled.

Muchova is the far better mover between these two players, and she also can counterpunch when Pavlyuchenkova loads up from the baseline. Also, while people worry about Muchova’s backhand, that shot has held up well throughout the tournament. She has been hitting it confidently and that’s a big part of the reason she hasn’t dropped a set in three of the four matches she has played.

This just feels like Muchova’s match to lose and I don’t see her letting it get away. She’s in for big things this season.

Bet: Muchova -2.5 Games (-120)

Karen Khachanov vs. Novak Djokovic (Scheduled: 8:00 a.m. ET)

Everybody is gearing up for a matchup between Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals, but the Serbian has to go through Khachanov first. And Khachanov is in the middle of a career year, so he isn’t going to just roll over and let Djokovic have this.

This has been a one-sided series in recent years, with Djokovic beating up on Khachanov. But I think the Russian can take a set, and I love that you can bet it at plus-money odds. The reality is that Djokovic hasn’t beaten anybody noteworthy since arriving in Paris, and Khachanov has performed like a top-10 player since the start of 2023 — his three-month trending UTR Ranking has him on par with Stefanos Tsitsipas and Holger Rune.

If Khachanov can just take advantage of any dips in Djokovic’s serving, this could be closer than expected. And we have seen Djokovic lose focus with his serve in this tournament.

Bet: Khachanov +2.5 Sets (+105)
