The Breeders’ Cup is behind us, but Team Tuley continues to look for value at tracks from coast to coast.
Unfortunately, there were a ton of scratches back East this morning, but I’m joined by Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed, who is back from Keeneland) as we have plays at Gulfstream Park in Florida and Del Mar in California, plus a couple at Woodbine up in Canada. Rampart race and sports manager Duane Colucci was going to pass entirely, but also adds a Pick 4 at Aqueduct in New York.
Good luck today (and every day!).
Aqueduct Races Nos. 6-9 (2:44 p.m. ET/11:44 a.m. PT)
Duane Colucci likes the following Pick 4 (cost $48)
Race 6: 6,7,8,9
Race 7: 3,4,6,7
Race 8: 5,6
Race 9: 7,8,10
Gulfstream Park Race No. 7 (3:33 p.m. ET/12:33 p.m. PT)
Dave Tuley likes #10 King Theo (12-1 morning line). “This 5-year-old gelding likes all-weather tracks (4-for-9 lifetime) and is also 4-for-11 at Gulfstream, so he knows how to find the winner’s circle. He should be sitting just off the pace in this mile-and-70-yard event against these other cheap claimers. Wager: Win (and Place if 8-1 or higher).”
Ed Sehon likes these three: #4 Rye Sense of Humor (3-1 morning line), #5 Mr. Sarcastic (12-1) and #7 Tap Gold (9-5). Wager: Box in Exactas and Trifectas, and begin . . .
$.50 Pick 5 in Races 7-11 (cost $72)
Race 7: 4,5,7
Race 8: 3,4,5,7,8,9
Race 9: 2,4
Race 10: 6,10
Race 11: 8,10
Woodbine Race No. 7 (4:25 p.m. ET/1:25 p.m. PT)
Dave Tuley likes #10 Silent Causeway in the Grade 3 Maple Leaf Stakes. “This 4-year-old mare deserves another chance at this level after a lackluster effort last-time out when finishing 7th as she gets back the services of jockey Patrick Husbands who she shared success with in late summer. They should be sitting way back early and make their bold move in the stretch. Wager: Win and Place.”
Gulfstream Park Race No. 9 (4:37 p.m. ET/1:37 p.m. PT)
Ed Sehon likes #2 Race Craft (7-2 morning line). “Track specialist, winner of four of 4 of 8 over synthetic surface, appears to have inside edge in optional allowance/claimer. Speedy work a week ago points to preparedness. Crafty Vasquez-Crichton join forces. Wager: Win.”
Woodbine Race 8 (4:55 p.m. ET/1:55 p.m. ET)
Dave Tuley likes #5 Beyond Mybudget (8-1 morning line) in the Grade 2 Bessarabian Stakes. “This Mark Casse is usually right there, though it’s been over a year since finding the winner’s circle. Still, she was second to one of the favorites here (#3 Hazelbrook) in their last race and has the chance to turn the tables with a cleaner trip from off the pace. Wager: Win and Place.”
Gulfstream Park Race No. 10 (5:09 p.m. ET/2:09 p.m. PT)
Ed Sehon likes #10 Collaborate (2-1 morning line). “Expensive 4-year-old is rested and ready to return to winner’s circle while stretching out to a mile. Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. and jockey Luis Reyes offer collaborative effort. Wager: Win.
Gulfstream Park Race Nos. 10-11 (5:09 p.m. ET/2:09 p.m. PT)
Ed Sehon likes SPECIAL LATE DAILY DOUBLE ($5 DD costs $20) of …
Race 10: #6 Sole Volante (6-1 morning line) and #10 Collaborate (2-1) and …
Race 11: #8 Candenza and #10 No Man Left Behind (8-1)
Del Mar Race No. 8 (7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT)
Dave Tuley likes No. 2 Delta Wind (6-1 morning line). “This John Sadler trainee is inconsistent, but he’s shortening her up a little to 6 1/2 furlongs and she can steal this if she gets to the lead. It’s basically all-or-nothing with this 4-year-old filly. Wager: Win only.”
