Super Bowl odds for Week 13 move Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs ahead of Josh Allen, Bills
For most of the 2022 NFL season, the more things changed, the more they stayed the same. Teams were moving up and down the Super Bowl LVII odds board, but one constant had been the Buffalo Bills at the top. With Josh Allen hurting and the Buffalo Bills struggling to a degree, the Kansas City Chiefs moved to the +400 favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook after Week 12 action.
Allen’s ongoing elbow injury has limited him quite a bit and he has even moved out to +1400 to win the 2022 NFL MVP, tied with Joe Burrow as the fifth choice on the board. Patrick Mahomes is the odds-on NFL MVP favorite at -160, with Jalen Hurts at +350 and Tua Tagovailoa at +500. But, this is about more than just Allen. This is about a Bills team that is not virtually guaranteed a division title, bye week and home game like the Chiefs are with a three-game lead in the AFC West. Buffalo is tied atop the AFC East with the Miami Dolphins at 8-3, but it is a division in which all four teams have winning records.

Even though the Chiefs are favored, the difference between them and the Bills is quite small, as both teams still have shorter odds than any NFC contenders and are clearly favored among the AFC teams to represent the conference in Glendale, Arizona at State Farm Stadium on Sunday February 12 with a Super Bowl kickoff time around 6:30 p.m. ET.
One of the more interesting notes about the Super Bowl odds is that the Bills and Dolphins are tied in the standings, but Buffalo is +450 and Miami is +1600. The Dolphins even hold the head-to-head tiebreaker by virtue of a Week 3 win over the Bills. The two teams play again in Week 15 in Buffalo.
Kansas City Chiefs schedule
- Week 13: at Cincinnati Bengals
- Week 14: at Denver Broncos
- Week 15: at Houston Texans
- Week 16: vs. Seattle Seattle
- Week 17: vs. Denver Broncos
- Week 18: at Las Vegas Raiders
The Chiefs play four of their final six games at home, but do not face the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers are in second place behind the Chiefs, but lost both head-to-head meetings, giving the Chiefs essentially a four-game lead.
Buffalo Bills schedule
- Week 13: at New England Patriots
- Week 14: vs. New York Jets
- Week 15: vs. Miami Dolphins
- Week 16: at Chicago Bears
- Week 17: at Cincinnati Bengals
- Week 18: New England Patriots
The Bills have a much tougher schedule in the quest to win the AFC East and also get one of the two playoff bye weeks. If it comes down to it, however, the Bills do have a head-to-head win over the Chiefs if the teams finish with the same record.
