1:10 p.m. ET: Los Angeles Angels (52-67) at Detroit Tigers (45-76)

The Angeles eked out a 1-0 win in Friday night's series opener, cashing as -155 road favorites. In this early afternoon rematch, Los Angeles hands the ball to lefty Reid Detmers (4-3, 3.45 ERA) and Detroit counters with fellow southpaw Tyler Alexander (2-7, 3.98 ERA). This line opened with the Angels listed as a -145 road favorite and the Tigers a 130 home dog. Sharps have laid the chalk with Los Angeles, steaming the Angels up from -145 to -160. Non-division road favorites are 212-136 (61%) this season. Los Angeles also has correlative betting value as a favorite in a low total game (7.5). The Angels are 35-29 as a favorite this season. The Tigers are 36-65 as a dog and just 26-34 at home. Detmers, who threw a no-hitter earlier this year, has given up 2 runs or less six straight starts. Meanwhile, the Tigers are 0-7 in Alexander's last seven starts.


8:10 p.m. ET: St. Louis Cardinals (67-51) at Arizona Diamondbacks (55-64)

The Cardinals cruised to a 5-1 victory in last night's series opener, cashing as -175 road favorites. St. Louis is now 14-3 in the their last 17 games. In tonight's rematch, the Cardinals tap Dakota Hudson (6-6, 4.17 ERA) and the Diamondbacks turn to lefty Madison Bumgarner (6-12, 4.37 ERA). This line opened with St. Louis listed as a -130 road favorite and Arizona a 120 home dog. Sharps are riding the hot hand, steaming the Cardinals up from -130 to -145. St. Louis will lean on their bats here, hitting .256 compared to .228 for Arizona. St. The Cardinals are 44-18 as a favorite and 18-9 against lefties. The Snakes are 35-50 as a dog and 38-50 against righties. Bumgarner has a 7.79 ERA in three August starts. We could be looking at a higher scoring game here. The total is 9 with the over juiced to -120, signaling a possible move up to 9.5. 


9:10 p.m. ET: Miami Marlins (52-67) at Los Angeles Dodgers (82-36)

The Dodgers edged the Marlins 2-1 in last night's series opener, taking care of business as hefty -290 home favorites. In tonight's rematch, the Marlins turn to lefty Braxton Garrett (2-6, 3.67 ERA) and the Dodgers start righty Dustin May (no record). May, one of the Dodgers' top pitching prospects, is making his season debut and first start since Tommy John surgery in 2021. This line opened with Los Angles listed as a -250 home favorite and Miami a 225 road dog. Sharps aren't scared off by the big chalk and have steamed Los Angeles up from -250 to -265. Home favorites -200 or more are 204-84 (71%) this season. Teams who made the playoffs the previous season against teams who did not are 451-258 (64%). Los Angeles holds a big edge at the plate (hitting .259 compared to .234) and on the mound (team ERA 2.86 vs 3.80). The Dodgers are 81-33 as a favorite, 41-15 at home and 27-12 against lefties. Miami is 22-46 as a dog, 27-34 on the road and 39-53 against righties. This total has fallen from 8.5 to 8 at several shops, signaling some smart money on the under. The under is 13-4 in the last 17 games for Miami.
