Raiders will prepare players for city of mass distractions

Oakland Raiders president Marc Badain responded to a question on the minds of many: How will the Raiders behave in the city with so many weapons of mass distractions?

“We’ve had discussions both with the league as well as our player engagement folks on how we’re going to ramp that up,” he said during an interview in Phoenix after the NFL approved the Raiders’ request to relocate to Las Vegas.

“We’re going to have a lot of education. We’re going to have kids coming into a lot of money and we want to make sure they are prepared for that and that’s on us,” he said. “We’ll do a good job with that.

“(Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie) will do a good job of bringing in the right type of guys and we’ll put the infrastructure and support system in place to take care of that.”

The scene and heard
My spies have noticed activity at the future site of the Raiders and UNLV stadium. A truck with a small rig attached to it has been working on the large patch of land that runs adjacent to I-15, across from Mandalay Bay. Readers who saw my tweet and are familiar with the shape of the rig shown in the photo said it appeared to be a crew taking soil samples that have to be done before before environmental documents and foundation design…
I tweeted on Friday night that a reliable source informed me T-Mobile Arena has a hold on a July date for the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Conor McGregor superfight. The same source that said negotiations had reheated and that the fight was going to happen.

On this day…
April 2, 1990: The UNLV Runnin’ Rebels defeat Duke, 103-73, the biggest victory margin ever in the final game. Anderson Hunt led the scoring with 29 points, and Larry Johnson added 22.

Sightings
Tom Felton, who plays the notorious villain in Draco Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” series, spotted with friends at Hakkasan nightclub (MGM Grand) on Thursday…Kirsten Dunst, in town promoting “The Beguiled” at CinemaCon, attended Britney Spears’ show at Planet Hollywood on Wednesday. Dunst posted a photo of Spears and added the comment, “she werked bitch” with a heart… Robert Knepper, who plays the violent and manipulative “T-Bag” on Fox’s hit series “Prison Break,” at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse (the D), with his wife, Nadine, and one of the show’s producers, Marklen Kennedy, a former Las Vegas nightclub executive…Members of the rock band Plain White T’s, at Tao nightclub (Venetian) on Thursday night… Andre Agassi and his attorney Francisco Aguilar, at the BE Engaged education conference Wednesday at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Agassi was a speaker.

The punch line
“Not only is (President Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn) willing to talk for immunity, he is also coming out with a new book, ‘The Art of the Squeal.’” – James Corden.
