The Shriner’s Children’s Charleston Classic tips off Thursday as Marquette looks to build off their win over 10th-ranked Illinois with a matchup against Ole Miss.

Marquette Golden Eagles vs. Ole Miss Rebels (-3.5, 135.5)

(stats as of Wednesday morning)

The Rebels are shooting 39.2% from 3-point range through two games this season and entered play on Wednesday 35th in the country in points scored on a per-possession basis.

Marquette is 271st among DI teams in 3-point shooting percentage at 27.1% and is allowing opponents to make 35.4% of their 3-point attempts, which is 235th in the country.

The Golden Eagles are also 281st in rebound rate and opponents are grabbing eight more rebounds per game than they are, which will give Ole Miss, who is shooting 51.8% from the floor overall, second chances on missed shots.

Ole Miss is also eighth in the country in assist-to-turnover ratio. The Rebels will make a statement in Charleston on Thursday.

Pick: Ole Miss -3.5

A Numbers Game: Reminder that when it comes to more popular teams (i.e. UConn), there’s not a huge rush to grab futures bets preseason. They were 18/1 then to win a national championship, and were 15/1 right before the tournament. View more tips.
