The Buffalo Bulls are one of the fastest teams in college basketball and have not received an opportunity against a ranked team since the 2019 NCAA Tournament. They will look to make a statement against Michigan on Wednesday.
Buffalo Bulls at Michigan Wolverines (-15.5, 150.5)
The Bulls have ranked in the top 21 in possessions per game each of the past four seasons and ranked 33rd in points per possession in road games last season. Four of their top five scorers return for this season.
Michigan has to replace two of their top three scorers from last season, but did bring in Coastal Carolina transfer Devante’ Jones, who registered 19.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and his 2.8 steals per game were fourth among qualifying Division I players.
Both the Wolverines and Bulls are solid rebounding teams, with Buffalo ranked 16th in rebounding rate last season and Michigan 20th. The Bulls also ranked sixth in the country in opponent 3-point shooting percentage.
Buffalo has gone 13-6 against the spread in road games the past two seasons and a group that was 296th in free throw shooting percentage last season gets a boost in George Washington transfer Maceo Jack, a lifetime 86% free throw shooter.
Buffalo will give a Michigan team with tons of preseason hype a strong test.
Pick: Buffalo + 15.5
