  • New York – Jaroslav Halak was in goal on Monday, which means Igor Shesterkin is expected to be back between the pipes on Wednesday.
  • Minnesota – Filip Gustavsson will start for the Wild.
  • Dallas – Jake Oettinger is the Stars’ projected starter.

Best NHL Player Prop Bets

A follower on Twitter referenced this player prop article from Monday and asked if the same methodology applies on Wednesday. It does.

Jason Robertson Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (EVEN)

Robertson registered seven shots on goal in Monday’s game against Ducks and easily went over his shot total of three and a half. It was the 17th time in 25 home games that Robertson has had at least four shots on goal and even though Minnesota doesn’t give up nearly as many shots as Anaheim does, there’s been an overadjustment here.

The odds on this prop closed at -160 on Monday (after opening at -120) and now, shops have Robertson’s odds of registering at least four shots sitting anywhere from even money to +115. The 23-year-old played the Wild four times in 2022. He scored six goals and had five-plus shots (25 total) on goal each time.

Robertson has had four-plus shots in 30 out of 52 games so far this season and, he’s been a force on home ice alongside Roope Hintz. The ceiling for this prop isn’t as high as it was on Monday (I was willing to bet -120, or even higher) but Robertson’s chances of generating at least four shots are much better than 50 percent.

Tip: Shop around for a bigger edge.
