Today’s Best NHL Bets

Here are today’s best NHL bets:

Edmonton Oilers (Regulation) -145

Edmonton hit a bump in the road going 2-1-1 on their most recent road trip, but they are in a good position to get back on track with a win over the Red Wings on Wednesday. The Oilers have won nine of their last 12 games, including a 5-2 win in Detroit on Feb. 7th, and – over the past two months – they’ve graded out as the best team by expected goals and goals scored. Detroit, meanwhile, ranks 24th in expected goals since the middle of December.

The Red Wings don’t pack enough of an offensive punch to keep up with the Oilers, who are generating the fifth-most shot attempts in the NHL while averaging four goals per game. Detroit is a low-event team, and Edmonton has been doing a great job of suppressing shots. The Oilers are just 13-11-3 at home this season, but with Evander Kane back in the fold, and Connor McDavid averaging 23-plus minutes a night on home ice, they have the potential to be a great home team the rest of the way.

Record: Wins: 58

Losses: 68

Units Won: -16.17

ROI: -11.4 percent
