Today’s Best NHL Bets

Here are today’s best NHL bets:

New Jersey Devils (Moneyline) +130

MacKenzie Blackwood and the New Jersey Devils weren’t on their game against the Predators in Nashville on Thursday, losing 6-4, but Vitek Vanecek is expected to be back between the pipes on Friday. Vanacek has won eight games in a row and has saved the team more than 12 goals above expected year-to-date.

Dallas still has an edge in goal with Jake Oettinger, but the Devils defense is much better when Vanecek is in goal. Dallas was missing one of their top scorers, Roope Hintz, which can partly explain their lacklustre play as of late, but the Stars have been losing more than they’ve been winning, and they rank 26th on offense in the month of January.

New Jersey, meanwhile, is one of the best offensive teams in the league, ranking fourth in goals and sixth expected goals (per 60) this month, and that lines up with what they’ve done year-to-date. Dallas will win the game more often than New Jersey, but the Devils are a value bet at +125 or better.
