Market Report Recap for Saturday, April 9th

The Calgary Flames picked up a 4-1 win over the Kraken in Seattle Saturday and covered the puck line at + 120. I don’t bet as much volume at this time of year, so it’s nice when the bets that I do make hit.

104-87, + 9.17 units, 4.7 percent ROI

Market Report for Sunday, April 10th

There are seven games on Sunday, but I’m only going to touch on the game that I have interest in from a betting perspective:

Los Angeles Kings (+ 160) at Minnesota Wild (-180)

Defenceman Drew Doughty has yet to return to the Los Angeles Kings’ lineup, but there’s a chance that the Minnesota Wild might be without Matt Dumba. The defenceman suffered an upper-body injury on Tuesday and missed Friday’s game, and his status is up in the air heading into Sunday’s game against the Kings. The team doesn’t believe the injury is of a serious nature, though, so there is a chance that he could suit up and, just to be safe, I’m handicapping the game as if that will be the case. Forward Matthew Boldy is also nearing a return to the lineup and I’m including him in my handicap as well. Both the Wild and Kings have lost their last two games in a row, and there should be no shortage of motivation on either side. It’s unclear who the starting goaltenders will be, but I’m going to assume that the home team will roll out Marc-Andre Fleury. The Wild have more high-end skill than the Kings do, but the latter is well structured, and bettors shouldn’t be surprised if the road team dictates the pace of play in this game. My model estimates that they will win the game approximately 40 percent of the time, and as a result, I recommend placing a small bet on the Kings at + 160 or better.

Los Angeles Kings + 160 (half size)
