Circa Sports Million and Circa Survivor selections were released Saturday afternoon per usual as we head into Sunday’s NFL Week 13 schedule with a lot of money on the line in the coming weeks.
Circa Survivor has 71 live entries after no one was eliminated in the regular Week 12 schedule (and only 3 eliminated in the extra “Thanksgiving Week”) with a record $6.133 million up for grabs in the contest where entrants have to pick one NFL winner a week and can’t use the same team twice. (Note: as Jeffrey Benson reminded his Circa Sports boss Derek Stevens on VSiN’s “The Football Contest Show” it’s actually $7.133 million possibly on the line because Stevens offered a $1 million bonus to be split by any contestants that go undefeated the whole season – 20 weeks total with the extra Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks – without using last year’s Super Bowl teams, the Rams and Bengals).
All 71 Survivors had their picks submitted on time again this week with 36 on the Browns vs. the Texans, 26 on the Seahawks vs. the Rams, 5 on the Cowboys vs. the Colts, 2 on the Ravens (the only 2 that had them available, according to Stevens) and a tie for the No. 5 choice with 1 each on the Jaguars and Vikings.
The Circa Sports Million drew 4,691 entries (at $1,000 apiece, same as Survivor) and is in the final week of the 3rd Quarter (with a $150,000 top prize to the best record over Weeks 10-13). The co-leaders in the contest-within-a-contest at 13-2 (86.7%) are DADDY A-1 and Peanut-2. Amazingly, they have 4 common picks among their 5 Week 13 selections: Lions +1 vs. the Jaguars, Dolphins +4 at the 49ers, Raiders -1 vs. the Chargers and Bengals +2 vs. the Chiefs. DADDY A-1’s other play is the Commanders -2.5 at the Giants while Peanut-2’s other pick is the TItans +4.5 at the Eagles.
The overall leader in the season-long contest – which has a guaranteed $1 million first-place prize – is TAIL PARTY-2 at 41-16-3 (71.9%) and his Week 13 selections are the Titans +4.5, Lions +1, Raiders -1, Bengals +2 and Saints +3.5.
The Top 5 Most-Selected Teams from all contestants for Week 13 (30-26-4, 53.6%, on the season) are the Lions +1, Titans +4.5, Giants +2.5, Chiefs -2 and Dolphins +4. No. 1 picks are 8-4 (66.7%) and it made sense that Lions +1 would be a popular play as they were bet to favoritism at -1 at Circa while most of the contestants were putting in their picks.
