NFL Draft Order puts the Bears at No. 1, Texans at No. 2

It’s Mock Draft Season, even though we still have plenty of football left as the NFL Playoffs begin on Saturday. Bears GM Ryan Poles had a media scrum on Tuesday and Justin Fields was a main topic of conversation. Poles noted that Fields needs to become a better passer, but left the door open for taking a quarterback at the top of the draft board. Poles said he needed to be “absolutely blown away” to take one, which means it could be on the table.

Are Bryce Young or CJ Stroud impressive enough for the Bears to throw away the time and money they’ve invested in the development of Fields, who was the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft? We’ll have several months of waiting to find out, but odds are out there for the No. 1 overall pick.
