Texans 2023 schedule could have team competitive during rebuilding year

When the Houston Texans made the decision to trade next year’s first-round pick to move up and take Will Anderson, many people noted that it could very well be a top-five pick. The schedule seems to back up that notion, as the rebuilding Texans with a first-time head coach in DeMeco Ryans and a rookie quarterback in CJ Stroud have a big mountain to climb in hopes of posting a respectable record.

Houston Texans schedule this year

The Texans really are an improved roster this season and Ryans projects to be an outstanding defensive coach, but Houston still has a long way to go to avoid double-digit losses. Along with an improved AFC South division on the schedule, the Texans face the NFC South and AFC North. The last-place schedule has the Jets, Broncos, and Cardinals, with Denver and Arizona at home. The schedule honestly isn’t that daunting, but there are a lot of changes with the personnel.

As weak as the schedule really is, the Texans are only favored in two games based on the early DraftKings lines.
