NFL Week 13 recap

Games are presented in Nevada rotation order. Drive points are those scored by the offense on drives of 60 yards or more.

Chicago (-5.5) only beat Detroit 24-20, winning yardage 419-364, yards-per-play 6.8 to 5.4, and red zone TD's 75% (3/4) to 33% (1/3). Lions won Drive Points 20-14. Bears back to .500 at 6-6. Lions fall to 3-8-1 for a head coach on the hot seat.

Buffalo (plus 6.5) won at Dallas 26-15, winning turnovers 2-0, Drive Points 17-15, and rushing yards 124-103. Dallas won some categories playing from behind. Buffalo now 9-3, Cowboys fall to 6-6, but still lead the NFC East.

New Orleans (-7) won at Atlanta 26-18, winning turnovers 3-0, Drive Points 10-6, and yards-per-play 5.7 to 4.1. Atlanta won yardage and other categories playing from behind. Saints 10-2, but not sizzling lately. Falcons fall to 3-9.

Green Bay (-6.5) won at the NY Giants 31-13, winning turnovers 3-0, third down conversions 54-36%, Drive Points 21-10, yards-per-play 5.5 to 5.2, and red zone TD's 100% (3/3) to 33% (1/3). Packers now 9-3. Giants fall to 2-10, now just a game out for "worst record."

Baltimore (-6) only beat San Francisco 20-17 in a very evenly played game. Probably would have been a close loss if not for a cheap 23-yard TD drive. Poor playing conditions. Both teams now 10-2.

Tennessee (-1) won at Indianapolis 31-17, winning rushing yards 154-82, Drive Points 14-10, and turnovers 3-2. Helped by a blocked kick return for a TD. Colts had good stats but too many miscues. Tennessee now 7-5, Indy 6-6.

Miami (plus 10) upset Philadelphia 37-31, winning yardage 409-386, yards-per-play 6.5 to 5.8, and Drive Points 34-8 (!). Miami now 3-9, Eagles fall to 5-7.

Kansas City (-10.5) beat Oakland 40-9, winning turnovers 3-0, third downs 64-33%, and Drive Points 21-9. Raiders actually won yardage 332-259 and yards-per-play 5.4 to 4.4. Chiefs helped by a pick six, and a defensive two-point PAT return. KC now 8-4, Oakland falls to 6-6.

Tampa Bay (-3) won at Jacksonville 28-11, winning yardage 315-242, yards-per-play 4.6 to 3.8, turnovers 4-1, Drive Points 14-0, third downs 41-29%, and rushing yards 74-49. Bucs now 5-7, Jags fall to 4-8.

Cincinnati (plus 2.5) beat the NY Jets 22-6, winning yardage 277-271, yards-per-play 4.4 to 3.9, Drive Points 14-3, and red zone TD's 67% (2/3) to 0% (0/0). First win of the year for 1-11 Bengals (door opened when others reached 2 wins last week). Jets fall to 4-8.

The LA Rams (-2.5) won at Arizona 34-7, winning yardage 549-198, yards-per-play 7.2 to 3.2, Drive Points 27-7, third downs 53-15%, rushing yards 132-74, and turnovers 1-0. Rams now 7-5, Cards 3-8-1.

Denver (plus 3.5) beat the LA Chargers 23-20, winning turnovers 2-1, third downs 47-33%, and almost nothing else. LAC won yardage 359-218 and yards-per-play 5.9 to 4.1. Be careful falling in love with Drew Lock! Both teams now 4-8.

Pittsburgh (plus 1) beat Cleveland 20-13, winning yardage 323-279, yards-per-play 6.0 to 4.4, Drive Points 17-13, turnovers 2-1, rushing yards 124-106, and third downs 40-33%. Steelers now 7-5, Browns 5-7.

Houston (plus 3) beat New England 28-22, winning turnovers 1-0, and not much else because the Pats padded stats playing from behind all night. Texans did get TD's in all 3 red zone trips. Houston now 8-4, Patriots 10-2.

Seattle (-3) beat Minnesota 37-30, winning yardage 444-354, rushing yards 218-78, turnovers 3-2, Drive Points 24-20, and time of possession almost 40-20. Seattle now leads the NFC West at 10-2 (tie-breaker over SF), Minnesota falls to 8-4.
