Thursday Best Bet Results
We went a perfect 2-0 ATS with our Best Bets in the Tuley’s Takes home office on Thursday (and also out of the office as we went to our son Maddux’s 8th grade graduation/promotion ceremony), though we were bummed we didn’t also have the Panthers winning outright in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals that they won 3-2 in 4 OTs as +128 road underdogs.
But I guess you can’t win ‘em all, though we try!!! Anyway, we did win with our Best Bet of the day with the Lakers +5.5 as they lost 108-103 to the Nuggets to fall down 0-2 in the NBA’s Western Conference Finals even though they’re 2-0 ATS vs. the closing lines.

We also won with our lone MLB play of the day on the Yankees First 5 Innings +105 as they led the Blue Jays 2-1 after 5 and went on to win 4-2 for those playing my picks that way. Full disclosure: I incorrectly predicted that Thursday “looks pretty chalky.” MLB dogs went 5-1 (!), but at least I found one of the live dogs with my lone bet.
Anyway, the 2-0 night improved our record to 24-16-7 (back to 60%) so far in the month of May (and that includes a push on our posted play of Lakers +6 in Game 1, though we know a lot of our followers cashed on +6.5) for a net profit of $970.09 based on $100 flat bets, according to the VSiN Pro Picks page.
Let’s look for more Best Bets on Friday. We’re passing on Game 1 of the NHL’s Western Conference Finals (I’m hoping to go to T-Mobile tonight to cheer on our hometown Golden Knights), but I have plays in the NBA and two in MLB.
NBA Friday Best Bet
Heat +9 at Celtics: I’m a little conflicted here. We won with the Heat in Game 1 (and the Lakers are 2-0 ATS as dogs vs. closing lines), so we were absolutely right when we said the Heat and Lakers were big value getting points in the road games in their respective series. With the Celtics in the “zig-zag” role – home faves usually bounce back well after losing series openers – I would normally pass on the Heat in this spot; however, we still think 9 points is too high, plus we’re “playing with house money,” so we’re backing the Heat again.
MLB Friday Best Bets
Guardians First 5 Innings +120 at Mets: We’re not sure why the Mets (22-23) are favored by so much over the Guardians (20-23) with Carlos Carrasco (0-2, 8.56 ERA) starting for New York, but we’ll take it. The Guardians counter with Cal Quantrill (2-2, 3.97 ERA).
Cubs First 5 Innings +105 at Phillies: We feel the same way about the Phillies (20-23) vs. the Cubs (19-24) with Chicago starting Marcus Stroman (2-4, 3.24 ERA) vs. Philadelphia’s Ranger Suarez (0-0, 6.75 ERA).
