Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Wednesday, April 12:
Zach LaVine averaged 24.8 points per game during the regular season, and he averaged only 23.5 points per game in two meetings with the Raptors this year. With that in mind, it’s a little hard to understand why LaVine’s point total is up at 25.5 for this Play-In matchup. Perhaps it’s a trap by the oddsmakers. But if that’s the case, we’re taking the bait.
This game has a total of 212.5 and sharp money continues to come in on the Under. So, if this is going to be a low-scoring game, it’s hard to envision a player scoring 26 or more for the underdog. The Raptors also happened to be the fifth-best team in basketball in defensive rating over the final 15 games of the regular season. This team can really defend and has multiple lengthy wings it can throw at LaVine to disrupt his shots.
Bet: LaVine Under 25.5 Points (-110)
The Thunder are going to like their chances of keeping this game close tonight, but it’s hard to see how they’ll figure out a way to slow down Jonas Valanciunas. Oklahoma City has a lot of talent at guard and forward, but the team is a little undersized at the center position. Rookie Jaylin Williams tends to start games at the center spot, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Dario Saric are their primary bigs off the bench. All three are way too small to defend Valanciunas.
Look for the Lithuanian to score a couple of buckets in post-up situations, but don’t be surprised if he also uses his massive frame to seal off defenders. That’ll create easy opportunities for teammates to dump passes into him for a layup or dunk. And Valanciunas should also score a couple of points off offensive rebounds. All of that should mean he'll easily score 14 or more tonight.
Bet: Valanciunas Over 13.5 Points (-120)
