Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Friday, April 7:
Since Mikal Bridges arrived in Brooklyn, his multi-steal games have been a little less of a regularity than they were in Phoenix. The Nets are relying on Bridges as their go-to player offensively, so he hasn’t been able to use as much energy as usual on the defensive end. However, the length and instincts are still there, and he has had at least two steals in two of his last three games. And he’ll now face a Magic team that seems like it will be resting most of its top players tonight.
With Bridges working against guys that don’t have experience playing big minutes at this level, he should be able to take advantage and get his hands on the basketball rather often defensively. Orlando committed 21 turnovers against the Cleveland Cavaliers last night, with the Cavs also having 13 steals in the game. With that in mind, it makes sense to make a bet on Brooklyn’s defense in this game, and Bridges still seems like the player that will benefit most. And the +180 odds don’t hurt either.
Bet: Bridges Over 1.5 Steals (+180)
Oddly enough, Klay Thompson is averaging only 13.7 points per game in three meetings with the Sacramento Kings this year. And Thompson, who is a 40.7% 3-point shooter, is hitting just 33.3% of his 3s against the Kings this season. However, we do expect him to turn it around and have a big game offensively here.
Thompson is coming off a meeting with the Denver Nuggets in which he scored 25 points. He also had 31 points against the San Antonio Spurs before that. Thompson is really in a nice groove as a scorer, and the Kings are one of the worst defensive teams in the entire NBA this season.
This matchup might not be one that has benefitted Thompson this season, but he still must view it as a good one. Look for him to finally break through and make some shots against a team he once torched for 37 points in a single quarter.
Bet: Thompson Over 21.5 Points (-110)
