Friday Betting Recaps

After Thursday was a huge day for underdog bettors, favorites bounced back for the most part on Friday as they went 10-5 in MLB and the Golden Knights won as chalk in Game 1 of the NHL Western Conference Finals.
However, the lone NBA playoff game had the Heat upset the Celtics for the second straight game in their Eastern Conference Final series.
So, let’s get to all the specific details with our daily recaps and also update the side and total records in each sport.

NBA: Heat upset Celtics 111-105 Friday to take 2-0 lead in #NBA Eastern Conference Finals: ViewFromVegas is Heat did it as 9.5-point road underdog & +370 on the money line (went just Over closing total of 215 points); Celtics failed in “zig-zag” (aka “loser of the last”) role after losing Game 1.

More NBA: Faves dropped to 2-2 SU in this round (both dog wins by the Heat), but dogs are a perfect 4-0 ATS vs. consensus closing lines. Faves still lead 49-22 SU and 40-30-1 ATS (58%) overall with 1 pick-’em. Home teams also dipped to 2-1 SU with road teams at 4-0 ATS. Home teams still lead 46-26 SU and 40-31-1 ATS (57.1%). Overs improved to 3-1 this round and 37-33-2 overall. The zig-zag dipped to 1-1 ATS this round but still leads 31-26-1 ATS overall.

NHL: Golden Knights (-130 home favorites) beat the Stars 4-3 in OT late Friday night in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals (game went Over betting total of 5.5 on the Stars’ tying goal with 1:58 left in regulation). The home/fave/Over result was the opposite of the road/dog/Under result in the Eastern Conference Finals Game 1, so faves/dogs home/road, Over/Under are all 1-1 so far in this round. 

More NHL: Dogs dipped to 39-34 overall with 2 pick-’ems. Road teams are even better at 42-33, despite the loss. Overs improved to 39-35-1. The zig-zag didn’t apply in the Game 1s since both teams won prior game, but it’s 37-24 overall awaiting Game 2s.

MLB: faves went 10-5 w/ upsets by Pirates (+160 vs. Diamondbacks), Orioles (+140 at Blue Jays), Red Sox (+133 at Padres), Angels (+130 vs. Twins) & Cubs (+115 at Phillies); home teams 9-6; Unders 10-5; faves 391-274 on season w/ 7 PKs; home teams 355-315 w/ 2 neutral sites; Overs dipped to 326-318-27 w/ 1 no-action.
