Memorial Day was another great day for underdog bettors.

The Heat and Golden Knights pulled outright upsets in the NBA and NHL playoffs, dogs went 7-4 in MLB, plus the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Cup race winner was the 14th betting choice.

NBA: Heat routed Celtics 103-84 in Game 7 to win the Eastern Conference Finals 4 games to 3. NHL: Golden Knights routed Stars 6-0 to clinch the Western Conference Finals. The Golden Knights were +110 road underdogs (went Over betting total of 5.5 goals). Road/dog/Over went 1-0. The “zig-zag” (aka “loser of the last”) went 1-0 as VGK lost the previous game.

More NHL: Dogs finished 5-3 this round with 2 pick-'ems and lead 43-36 in playoffs with 4 PKs. Home/road teams split 5-5 this round, but road teams improved to 46-37 overall. Unders 6-4 this round, but Over/Unders back to .500 at 41-41-1. The zig-zag improved to 2-6 this round and leads 39-30 overall.

Auto racing: Ryan Blaney won the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Cup race (moved from Sunday to Monday due to wet weather) to end 59-race losing streak. MLB: Dogs went 7-4 on Monday with the biggest upsets by the A's (+212 in 7-2 win vs. the Braves to snap an 11-game losing streak) and the Royals (+163 in 7-0 shutout at Cardinals).
