WEDNESDAY RECAP: Inclement weather once again played havoc with racing schedule. Race No. 1 (the steeplechase) was postponed until later in the meet. Races Nos. 3 & 10 were moved from turf to dirt. Once all scratches and changes were in, my bankroll action was reduced from $68 to $28 … Front-running #1 Run Curtis Run captured the Rick Violette Stakes for 2-year-olds. Trained by Mike Maker and ridden by Jose Ortiz, winner paid $8 … Mr. Ed - a maiden no more - as Best Bet #6 Let’s Be Clear won Race No. 6, paying $7.60 … $1 Pick 3 (Races 6-8) of 6-6-6 paid $196.50 … Average Win payoff for nine races: $10.30 … Trainer Michael Maker and jockey Jose Ortiz each had a pair of winners.

DAY #6 AT THE SPA: If you need to take a day off to clean the litter box, squeeze fruit at a produce stand and/or rewatch a double feature of “Seabiscuit” and “Let It Ride” — today’s your day … Ten-race card, including another steeplechase and eight contests restricted to fillies and/or mares, offers little action for the serious horseplayer … Weak card questionable weather = fewer dollars worth investing.

BEST BET (Race No. 2, 1:38 p.m. ET/10:38 a.m. PT)

Sprinter #3 Wicked Mad (2-1 morning line), son of Tapit, gets blinkers in initial Spa effort for hot duo of Ricardo Santana & Steve Asmussen. Wager: $10 to Win & Place. ($20)

PRICE PLAY (Race No. 6, 3:55 p.m. ET/12:55 p.m. PT)

Popular young conditioner Amira Chichakly sends out #1 Our Tiny Dancer (6-1 morning line) in NY-bred maiden turf sprint. Aggressive jock, inside post keys. Wager: $5 Win & Place on #1. ($10)

EXACTA EXTRA (Race No. 7, 4:29 p.m. ET/1:29 p.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes quartet of #6 Quantitativbreezin (7-2 morning line), #8 My Alluring Lady (9-2), #9 Traffic Lane (3-1) & #10 Chloe Rose (6-1). Group of cheap claiming sprinters offers opportunity for profitable return. Wager: $2 Exacta Box of 6,8,9 & 10. ($24)

$.50 PICK 4 (Race No. 7, 4:29 p.m. ET/1:29 p.m. PT)

Race 7: 6,8,9,10

Race 8: 5

Race 9: 1,3

Race 10: 2,4,6,7,12 (cost $20)

LOOKING AHEAD TO FRIDAY (DAY #7): The best weekday card of the meet thus far features the Grade 3 $150,000 Lake George Stakes for 3-year-old fillies. Competitive field of 10 gals (four trained by Chad Brown), led by morning-line favorite Jouster (7-2), entered to go mile over the Inner Turf Course.
