Editor's note: last summer, Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) called this column "Saratoga on (about) $100 a Day," but sometimes had trouble finding plays on the mid-week cards, which put a drain on the bankroll. So, for this summer's meet at the Spa, Mr. Ed is saving his bankroll for the higher-quality cards (and horses) on the weekend and is posting his plays for VSiN.com/horses readers on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the meet. After an up-and-down opening weekend, here are his plays for Sunday as the second weekend of the meet comes to a close:

Race 1 (1:05 p.m. ET/10:05 a.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes #1 Faithful and True (5-2 morning line). “My choice scratched from Race 6 on Saturday, but I’ll stick with him in similar debut sprint. Flavien Prat picks up mount for sharp Rudy Brissett barn. I remain faithful. Second time’s a charm. Wager $10 to Win.”

(cost $10)

Race 4 (2:49 p.m. ET/11:49 a.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes #8 Shiraz (8-1 morning line). “This isn’t the first rodeo for 8-year-old gelded son of Tale of the Cat. Look for veteran turf sprinter to hang close early, complete job in stretch for savvy Saez-Maker duo. Wager: $5 to Win and Place.”

(cost $10)

Race 5 (3:21 p.m. ET/12:21 p.m. PT)

Mr. Ed’s PLAY OF THE DAY. $10 Exacta Box of #3 Malathaat (4-5 morning line) and #4 Clairiere (1-1). Two of the best in the business.

(cost $20)

Race 6 (3:55 p.m. ET/12:55 p.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes three: #2 Key of Life (2-1 morning line), #6 Vahva (8-1) and #8 Randomized (9-2). Wager $2 Exacta Box.

(cost $12)

Races 7-10 (4:29 p.m. ET/1:29 p.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes a $1 Pick 4

Race 7: 1,5,7

Race 8: 3,7

Race 9: 1,4

Race 10: 2,5,7

(cost $36)

TOTAL WAGERS : $88

PRO TIPS & PICKS

The Greg Peterson Experience: Doing research during the week and timing the market for FCS football games accordingly can pay off big time. FCS games typically do not receive a betting line until the day of the game, so hitting openers on game lead to tremendous closing line value and large edges.  View more tips.
