Note: In preparation for his trip next week to Lexington, KY, to report on the 2022 Breeders’ Cup World Championships (Friday-Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5, at Keeneland), VSiN handicapper Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) has been sharing his Play of the Day throughout the regular Keeneland fall meeting. As for Thursday, bombs away pick #8 Unleash the Power in Race 7, after breaking near front, fell back and finished up the track. Only two more racing days remain here until Churchill Downs opens on Sunday.
Mr. Ed’s Keeneland Play of the Day (10/28)
Race 7 (4:44 p.m. ET/1:44 p.m. PT)
My pick is #5 Dolce Zel (5-2 morning line) in the Grade 3 Rubicon Valley Stakes. Premiere trainer Chad Brown and nation’s top rider Irad Ortiz Jr. again team up on improving 3-year-old French import in effort to chalk up her third graded stakes victory on turf. Filly should be able to sit perfect stalking trip as several others contend for early advantage. Look for choice to run others down in stretch. Win, even at short price, would be sweet.
