Note: In preparation for his trip next week to Lexington, KY, to report on the 2022 Breeders’ Cup World Championships (Friday-Saturday, Nov. 4-5, at Keeneland), VSiN handicapper Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) is sharing his Play of the Day throughout the regular Keeneland fall meeting. Yesterday’s posted selection, #2 Running Bee in Race 5, wired the field, returning $7.40 for a $2 winning ticket.
Mr. Ed’s Keeneland Play of the Day (10/27)
Race No. 7 (4:12 p.m. ET/1:12 p.m. PT)
My pick is #8 Unleash the Power (15-1 morning line). With only four days remaining in the pre-Breeders’ Cup meet, it’s time I unleash a bomb — if supporting an expensive, promising son of Curlin from the the Al Stall Jr. barn is really a risky proposition. After a pair of sneaky good turf efforts, guy may not win today, but I assure you he’ll go to post at less than double-digit odds. With meet’s hottest jock Tyler Gaffalione getting leg up, my bet is gelding rewards those supporting him across the board. After all, isn’t cashing tickets what it’s all about? Power to the players!
