Note: In anticipation of his trip next month to Lexington, KY, to report on the 2022 Breeders’ Cup World Championships (Friday-Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5, at Keeneland), VSiN handicapper Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) is sharing his Play of the Day throughout the regular Keeneland fall meeting. Over the last 7 racing days we're 4-2-2 -0 — for those who don't know, that means 4 starts, 2 Wins, 2 Places and 3 scratches, so our picks have been live as long as they make it to the starting gate. Friday’s pick Placed, after leading from the gate to deep stretch, getting nipped at the wire.
Mr. Ed’s Keeneland Play of the Day (10/22)
Race No. 10 (5:48 p.m. ET/2:48 p.m. PT)
My pick to Win is #12 Pancake House (6-1 morning line). Lots to like here: closing move exhibited in last race coupled with additional distance today; superior conditioner (Tom Drury), and under-rated rider (Edgar Morales). What concerns me? After four previous chances, he’s still a maiden — and draws outside post. However, I’m counting on this guy to provide the syrup needed to capture my Pick 4 (see "Team Tuley's Thoroughbred Takes Team" at VSiN.com on Saturday morning).
