Note: In anticipation of his upcoming comprehensive coverage of the Breeders’ Cup World Championship (Friday-Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5, at Keeneland), regular Team Tuley's Thoroughbred Takes member and VSiN handicapper Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) will share his Play of the Day throughout the regular Keeneland fall meeting. After an 0-for-4 start, he's 2-0 with a trio of scratches over the last 5 racing days, including a score with Gina Romantica ($11.06) in Race 9 last Saturday.
Mr. Ed’s Keeneland Play of the Day (10/20)
Race 8 (4:44 p.m. ET/1:44 p.m. PT)
I like #7 Actuator (8-1 morning line). A full, competitive field of second-tier 3-year-old stakes routers is entered in $125,000 allowance optional claimer going 1 1/8 miles. When last seen, value choice finished up the track in Grade 1 Jerkens at Saratoga in late-August, won by Breeders' Cup-bound Jack Christopher. Facing a much softer group here, I’m looking for Actuator to return to winning form he previously exhibited at Horseshoe Indianapolis and Churchill Downs under today’s veteran rider James Graham for trainer Michael McCarthy.
