Mr. Ed's Keeneland Play of the Day 10/12

By Ed Sehon  (VSiN.com handicapper)

Note: In anticipation of his upcoming comprehensive coverage of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships (Friday-Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5 at Keeneland), regular Team Tuley's Thoroughbred Takes contributor and VSiN handicapper Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) will share his Play of the Day throughout the regular Keeneland fall meeting.)

Mr. Ed’s Keeneland Play of the Day (10/12)

Race 8 (4:44 p.m. ET/1:44 p.m. PT)

My pick is #3 Rhetoric (3-1 morning line). It’s fitting that as one who has filled this space with too much rhetoric -- and too few winners -- would select this expensive 3-year-old son of Quality Road in $110,000 mile turf test. Veteran Brendan Walsh, who takes over training duties from Bob Baffert barn, attains services of skillful jock Joel Rosario for colt’s first try on the weeds. So, it’s easy for me to say, let Rhetoric run! Wager: Win.

PRO TIPS & PICKS

A Numbers Game: Be careful betting baseball games right now, if they don’t involve teams still trying to make the playoffs. Teams that have clinched or teams that are completely out of it will be approaching games far differently. View more tips.

Ian Cameron: USC at Colorado - OVER (73.5). View more picks.
