Mr. Ed's Keeneland on (about) $100 a Day for Wednesday 4/20

By Ed Sehon  (VSiN handicapper)

Keeneland_starting_gate

Editor’s note: Just like he did during the 40-day Saratoga meet last summer, Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) will provide VSiN readers with daily picks during the 15-day Keeneland meet that opened on Friday, April 8, and runs through Friday, April 29. Sehon’s selections are meant to give an overview of how to attack each day’s card through the use of Best Bets on individual horses as well as multi-race wagers. He generally tries to do it on a bankroll of (about) $100 a day, though will sometimes go higher on bigger days like he did on Blue Grass Stakes Day.

Races Nos. 3-5 (2:04 p.m. ET/11:04 a.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes the following $1 Pick 3 (cost $50)

Race 3: 3,4

Race 4: 3,4,6,7,13

Race 5: 1,2,9,10,11

Race No. 6 (3:40 p.m. ET/12:40 p.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes #1 Barstow (10-1 morning line). “Pick based on a combination of 60 years of earned horseplaying chops (Charles Town, WV, 1962), belief in aspiring young rider (Geraldo Corrales), favorable pace scenario (inside post), shorter distance (mile to 7 furlongs) and return to preferred surface (synthetic to dirt). Simply put: It’s an inside trip to Barstow. Wager: $5 to Win and Place.”

Race No. 7 (4:12 p.m. ET/1:12 p.m. PT)

I like #6 T D Dance (6-1 morning line). “Anytime Mr. Ed spots Irad Ortiz Jr. on a live mount for Brad Cox at a decent price, he puts his money down, hoping odds don’t turn to chalk. Returning to dirt and cutting back to 7 furlongs should suit this guy’s stalking style. Anyone remember the Ickey Shuffle? Wager: $5 to Win and Place and $2 Exacta box using 6 with 1 and 10.”

TOTAL WAGERS FOR WEDNESDAY: $78

TOTAL WAGERS THROUGH SATURDAY: $665

TOTAL MONEY CASHED: $718

TOTAL PROFIT: $53
