Mr. Ed's Keeneland on (about) $100 a Day 4/13

By Ed Sehon  (VSiN handicapper)

Keeneland_starting_gate

Just like he did during the 40-day Saratoga meet last summer, Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) will provide VSiN readers with daily picks during the 15-day Keeneland meet that opened last Friday and runs through Friday, April 29 (no racing on Mondays, Tuesdays or Easter Sunday, April 17).

Sehon’s selections are meant to give an overview of how to attack each day’s card through the use of Best Bets on individual horses as well as multi-race wagers. He generally tries to do it on a bankroll of (about) $100 a day, though will sometimes go higher on bigger days like he did on Blue Grass Stakes Day last Saturday.

Sehon is 3-for-3 in providing profitable plays each day of the meet so far as he had another winner on Sunday with Distinctlypossible ($4) in Race 3 (note: he also gave out Race 5 winner Bizzee Channel at 7-1, but unfortunately didn’t recommend a Win bet and instead lost his Exacta boxes) and then hit the late Pick 4 for $154.50 on a $54 ticket.

Race No. 5 (3:08 p.m. ET/12:08 p.m. PT)

I like #6 Overbore (4-1 morning line). Sure as VSiN sports handicapper Dave Tuley knows his dogs, trainer Wesley Ward knows his horses — especially those entered in Keeneland sprints. Last seen here in October, rested Overbore regains the riding services of Joel Rosario and gets first dose of Lasix, following a solid string of maintenance works. Numbers indicate Ward + Rosario = a winning formula. Wager: $10 to Win and Place on 6.”

Races Nos. 5-7 (3:08 p.m./12:08 p.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes the following $1 Pick 3 (cost $36)

Race 5: 6,7,12

Race 6: 2,6,7

Race 7: 1,2,4,9

Race No. 7 (4:12 p.m. ET/1:12 p.m. PT)

I like #9 Winter Pool (9-2 morning line) to capture this optional allowance claiming route for super conditioner Chad Brown. This 5-year-old gelded son of Curlin just missed vs. group here last fall. Cutting back to a mile and a sixteenth, he gets significant rider upgrade to young and restless Tyler Gaffalione. Winter Pool is nobody’s fool. Wager: $10 Win and Place on #9.

TOTAL WAGERS FOR WEDNESDAY: $76

TOTAL WAGERS THROUGH SUNDAY: $327

TOTAL MONEY CASHED: $566

TOTAL PROFIT: $239
