Just like he did during the 40-day Saratoga meet last summer, Ed Sehon (aka Mr. Ed) will provide VSiN readers with daily picks during the 15-day Keeneland meet that runs through April 29 (no racing on Mondays, Tuesdays or Easter Sunday, April 17).

Sehon’s selections are meant to give an overview of how to attack each day’s card through the use of Best Bets on individual horses as well as multi-race wagers. He generally tries to do it on a bankroll of (about) $100 a day, though will sometimes go higher on bigger days like Blue Grass Day.

Race No. 4 (2:36 p.m. ET/11:36 a.m. PT)

My pick is #3 Malibu Marie (7-2 morning line). “Nation’s top trainer Brad Cox ships sophomore daughter of Malibu Moon in from Fair Grounds for $110,000 allowance optional claimer. Speedy gal gets big rider boost to Flavien Prat, who moves tack from West Coast to Kentucky. No trouble finding Winner’s Circle. Wager: $10 Win and Place on 3.”

Race No. 7 (4:12 p.m. ET/1:12 p.m. PT)

I like a pair here — #2 Money Supply (9-2 morning line) and #8 My Prankster (9-5) – in the Lafayette Stakes. “Slight nod goes to #2 for Chad Brown and Jose Ortiz off stellar debut win in Tampa Bay maiden sprint. The #8, winner of last two for Todd Pletcher and Luis Saez, will give top choice run for the money. Wager: $10 Win on 2 and $5 Exacta Box 2 and 8.”

Races Nos. 7-10 (4:12 p.m. ET/1:12 p.m. PT)

Mr. Ed likes the following $.50 Pick 4 (cost $48)

Race 7: 2,8

Race 8: ALL (1-6)

Race 9: 4,6

Race 10: 2,3,9,10

TOTAL WAGERS: $88

PRO TIPS

A Numbers Game: Reminder that when it comes to more popular teams (i.e. UConn), there’s not a huge rush to grab futures bets preseason. They were 18/1 then to win a national championship, and were 15/1 right before the tournament. View more tips.
