The San Francisco 49ers beat the Los Angeles Rams 24-9 on Monday Night Football to wrap up NFL Week 4.

The 49ers also covered after closing as 2-point favorites while the game stayed Under the betting total of 42 points as the San Francisco defense dominated, holding the defending Super Bowl champions to 257 total yards and just three field goals. The 49ers defense harassed L.A. QB Matthew Stafford all night long, sacking him seven times, and then – with the outcome still in the balance with the 49ers leading just 17-9 – 49ers safety Talanoa Hufanga intercepted Stafford and returned it 52 yards for the clinching touchdown.

The winning margin also made losers of popular 6-point teasers on the Rams being teased up over a TD, plus the also popular favorite/Over parlays and teasers also lost with the points falling nine short of the total.

Favorites ended up going 10-6 straight-up in Week 4, but underdogs still came out ahead at 8-7-1 ATS against our consensus Vegas closing lines with the push coming in the Bills’ 23-20 come-from-behind win at the Ravens as 3-point road favorites. For the season, faves are 36-26-1 SU with 1 pick-’em (Commanders-Lions in Week 2) while dogs still lead 35-25-3 ATS (58.3 percent).

Home teams went 8-7 SU in Week 4 with 1 neutral-site game (Vikings-Saints in London) and home/road teams split 7-7-1 ATS. On the season, home-field advantage is negligible as home teams are 33-29-1 SU and 30-30-3 ATS.

Over/Unders also split 8-8 in Week 4 after Unders dominated the first three weeks, but Unders still hold a sizable lead at 37-26-1 (58.7 percent) on the season. Primetime Unders went 2-1 in Week 4 and are 9-4 (69.2 percent) in games on Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights.
