The Cleveland Browns upset the Cincinnati Bengals 32-13 as 3-point home underdogs on Monday Night Football to wrap up NFL Week 8.

Cleveland backers also cashed in on the + 150 money line while the game pushed on the consensus closing betting total of 45 points.

After a scoreless first quarter, Nick Chubb gave the Browns an 8-0 lead with 5:04 left in the second quarter by not only scoring on a 3-yard TD run but also rushing for the 2-point conversion. Cade York added a 55-yard FG on the last play of the first half for an 11-0 lead.

Cleveland QB Jacoby Brissett ran for a TD and threw for another in the third quarter for a 25-0 lead. The scoring picked up even more in the fourth quarter as the Bengals finally got on the board with Joe Burrow throwing two TD passes sandwiched around another TD run by Chubb to put the Browns’ lead at 32-13, sitting right on the Over/Under of 45 with 6:40 to play.

The total opened at 47 points and was bet down during the week. Some books were still at 45.5 on Monday, so any of those Under bettors were hoping for no more scoring.

Late in the game, the Browns were in the red zone, so Over bettors were hoping for at least a field goal, but the Browns picked up a first down at the 2-minute warning and then went into victory formation.

Favorites dipped to 9-6 SU in Week 8, but underdogs led 8-6-1 ATS with outright upsets by the Ravens, Broncos, Saints, Commanders, 49ers (closed + 1 at the Rams after being short faves all week) and Browns, plus the Panthers and Packers covering in SU losses.

Home teams went 8-6 SU in Week 8 with 1 neutral-site game in London, but road teams led 7-6-1 ATS. Unders led 8-7.

On the season, faves lead 72-48-1 SU with 2 games closing pick-’em, but dogs still lead 67-50-4 ATS (57.3%). Home teams lead 66-53-1 SU with 3 neutral-site games, but road teams actually lead 61-55-4 ATS (52.6%). Unders lead 70-51-2 (57.9%) while primetime Unders lead 15-9-1 (62.5%) after splitting 1-1-1 in Week 8.
