MLB value plays for Thursday, June 1

Greg Peterson posts his daily handicapped MLB lines for every game every day. Based on his lines vs. the actual lines, here is where Peterson sees value on today’s menu. Peterson also does a daily podcast, The Baseball Betting Show, on which he breaks down every game every day.

Rockies vs. Diamondbacks Total 10. Greg’s Total 9.3.

The Rockies are last in the National League in runs per game on the road and 29th out of the 30 MLB teams in home runs per game on the road. Though Diamondbacks starter Zach Davies enters with a 5.68 ERA, his three starts have come against the Boston Red Sox and twice against the Los Angeles Angels. He allowed three runs or fewer in three of his four starts against the Rockies last season. Rockies starter Chase Anderson has yet to allow more than one run in any of his five pitching appearances this season with a 1.31 ERA.

Guardians vs Twins (-140). Greg’s Line: Twins -158.

The Guardians are last in the league in home runs and second-worst in runs per game. Despite Tanner Bibee having a 2.88 ERA and two runs or fewer allowed in five of his six career MLB starts, the team is just 2-4 in them, and he faces a Twins lineup that is ninth in the league in runs per game at home with 4.8 and seventh in home runs per game at home.

Brewers vs. Blue Jays Total 8.5. Greg’s Total 7.9.

The Milwaukee Brewers score the second-fewest runs per game of any National League team and now have infielder Willy Adames on the injured list. Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman enters having allowed two earned runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts with a 3.03 ERA and FIP of 2.52 with 11.7 strikeouts per nine innings for a team that leads the American League in home ERA.
