The 2023 MLB season is fully in swing and VSiN has you covered with every way you can possibly bet on a baseball game. Normally, Adam Burke will have daily best bets to give you some ideas of what to back when it comes to moneylines, run lines and totals, while I focus on feeding you all player props. However, Adam is off on Sundays, so I'm tackling everything before we get back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow. Keep reading to find out how I'm betting three of the games on the MLB schedule for Sunday, August 6th.

Here are our favorite MLB best bets and prop bets for Sunday, August 6th:
Carlos Rodon hasn’t quite figured things out since returning from the IL, but his outs recorded props are just far too low. Rodon went Over the 16.5 mark two starts ago, and it’s only a matter of time before he starts regularly doing this. There is nothing with the lefty’s spin rates or pitch velocity that suggests he’s struggling physically out there. He’s just trying to knock off some rust, and he should start doing so with five outings under his belt. Rodon also happens to be going up against an Astros team that should bring the best out of him. The last time Rodon faced Houston during the regular season was in 2021, when he threw 7.0 innings against the Astros twice. I think he’ll get up for what is a big game at Yankee Stadium, delivering a solid performance in which he finds a way to complete at least six innings.
Bet: Rodon Over 16.5 Outs Recorded (-110)
Zac Gallen only had six strikeouts in his last trip to the mound, but he has had at least seven in 10 of his 23 outings this year. The righty now gets to face a Twins team that has the highest strikeout rate in all of baseball. On top of that, Minnesota’s 27.1% strikeout rate goes up a bit to 27.7% when you break it down to just righties. This Twins lineup can really struggle against right-handed pitching, and the team now faces one of the best pitchers in baseball. This is a play I really like, as I can see him going Over the number in a mediocre start. And that’s an outcome that feels pretty likely when you consider that Gallen isn’t exactly the same pitcher outside of Arizona.
Bet: Gallen Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-114)
The Cubs were able to pick up a win in the second game of this series, so they’re now looking to win this three-game set with a home victory today. And all things considered, it’s hard not to like Chicago to find a way to do so. Lefty Justin Steele will be on the mound for the Cubs in this game, and he has been performing at a Cy Young level this season. Steele is 12-3 with a 2.65 ERA on the season, and he almost feels due for a strong outing after having given up four earned runs in his last trip to the hill. Look for Steele to do a solid job of keeping Atlanta’s offense in check, but don’t be surprised if Chicago does a number on Charlie Morton. The righty has allowed at least three earned in each of his last three starts, and he now faces a scorching hot offense.
Bet: Cubs ML (-102)
