Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Sunday, April 16:

San Francisco Giants (-150, 8) at Detroit Tigers

Logan Webb is 0-3 with a 4.76 ERA to start this season, but he has faced the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers thus far. The righty should be able to turn things around with a nice outing against a Tigers team that has been putrid offensively this season. Only the Miami Marlins have scored fewer runs than the Tigers this year, and Detroit is also last in the league in wRC. Simply put, this should feel like pitching against a little league team for Webb, who just inked a five-year, $90 million extension with the Giants. Look for him to go out and do his thing in this one. The Giants offense doesn’t hit lefties very well, but Boyd isn’t good, and he also doesn’t work deep into games. So, even if the Giants struggle to score runs early, they’ll get a crack at some lousy relievers rather quickly.

Bet: Giants ML (-150)

Cleveland Guardians (-230, 8.5) at Washington Nationals

Josh Bell got off to a miserable start this season, but he is heating up heading into this one. Bell enters this game on a four-game hitting streak, and he has ripped four doubles in that span. Bell also homered two games ago, so he’s clearly seeing the ball well. Now, the big slugger gets to face Patrick Corbin, who is 1-2 with a 7.71 ERA this season. Corbin has been the worst starting pitcher in baseball for two years now, yet the Nationals continue to trot him out and let him eat innings. This has also been a good matchup for Bell in the past, as he’s 3 for 10 with three homers and five RBIs off Corbin in his career. With that said, look for Bell to go over his total bases total here. And don’t be surprised if he does it with one swing of the bat.

Bet: Bell Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100)

New York Mets (-155, 9) at Oakland Athletics

It’s never easy to suggest backing a team that is 3-12 and 1-9 in its last 10 games, but there’s some value to be had in betting the Athletics today. New York is sending Jose Butto to the mound in this one, and the righty was awful in his first pro appearance last season. Butto gave up seven earned runs on nine hits in only 4.0 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies on August 21st, 2022. The Phillies also hit two home runs in that game, and Butto hasn’t pitched in the majors since. With that in mind, Butto could be a little nervous with this being his first appearance since then, and it’s never easy pitching on the road either — especially on short notice.

If something is going to wake up Oakland’s offense, it’s a matchup like this one. The Athletics are also sending one of their most talented starters to the mound in this one. JP Sears is coming off a game in which he threw 5.0 innings of three-run ball against a good Baltimore Orioles offense. If he can come close to turning in a quality start here, you’ll be happy you backed Oakland.

Bet: Athletics ML (+135)
