Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Wednesday, June 7th:

Detroit Tigers at Philadelphia Phillies (-250, 7.5)

Zack Wheeler is coming off a miserable start against the Washington Nationals, as he gave up seven earned runs on eight hits in only 3.2 innings of work. Wheeler also had just three striekouts in that game, but the oddsmakers still have his total all the way up at 8.5 in this one. It seems like they are very comfortable with bettors taking the under, but I think Wheeler will come through with a big day in the strikeout column.

While striking out nine batters in a single game isn’t easy, Wheeler has already done it twice this season. Now, Wheeler gets to face a Tigers team that has the sixth-highest strikeout rate in baseball against right-handed pitching this season. Also, Detroit has the third-worst batting average in the league against righties, which speaks to this team’s struggles with this type of matchup.

Wheeler also happens to be very good when pitching at Citizens Bank Park, so the stars are aligned for him to show out today.

Bet: Wheeler Over 8.5 Strikeouts (+125)

Arizona Diamondbacks (-130, 9.5) at Washington Nationals

Patrick Corbin has been a lot better in 2023 than he has been in recent seasons, but he still gets himself into trouble quite a bit. The 33-year-old has given up at least seven hits in nine of his 12 starts this year, and he has also done so in four of his last five outings. With that in mind, hitters are still very comfortable facing Corbin right now. And I think the Diamondbacks will tee off on him here.

Arizona has a top-10 batting average in the league against lefties this season, and the Diamondbacks have the sixth-most hits in baseball against southpaws. Arizona also has a top-10 hard hit rate against left-handed pitching since the start of 2023, and I think this just makes this a very difficult matchup for Corbin.

Bet: Corbin Over 6.5 Hits Allowed (-155)

Los Angeles Dodgers (-165, 11) at Cincinnati Reds

Elly De La Cruz made his MLB debut on Tuesday, when he went 1 for 3 with a double against the Dodgers. De La Cruz is the top prospect in all of MLB and he’s a guy that the Reds are very excited about — and absolutely should be. De La Cruz is a switch hitter with the ability to do damage from both sides of the plate. And I think his explosive bat will make a little noise against Noah Syndergaard tonight.

Syndergaard has been an absolute nightmare for Los Angeles lately, as he has given up 15 hits and 11 earned runs in his last 11.0 innings on the mound. Syndergaard no longer has the velocity that made him a star with the New York Mets. Now, he is a guy that gives up a lot of hard contact. And with him being so hittable right now, I think De La Cruz goes out and gets a couple of hits — or one big one. Perhaps we’ll even see the first homer out of the shortstop.

Bet: De La Cruz Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100)
