Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Wednesday, April 19:

Arizona Diamondbacks at St. Louis Cardinals (-200, 10.5)

Madison Bumgarner hasn’t been a high-level starter in quite some time, and he’s already off to a poor start to the 2023 season. Bumgarner is 0-2 with a 7.90 ERA this season, and his 2.12 WHIP is especially concerning. The former ace just hasn’t been able to locate his pitches, which is a nightmare considering his velocity and spin rates are slightly down from 2022.

With Bumgarner struggling like this, it’s hard not to jump on some Cardinals player props. And the player that stands out is Paul Goldschmidt, who is 26 for 76 with five doubles, two triples and four homers against Bumgarner in his career. The 35-year-old has crushed Bumgarner in the past, and he also happens to be batting .328 with two homers, six doubles and nine RBIs this season.

With Goldschmidt seeing the ball well this season, it makes a lot of sense to back him here. He can cash this by getting two hits or just one for extra bases. And it really wouldn’t be surprising if he were to touch 'em all with a homer today.

Bet: Goldschmidt Over 1.5 Total Bases (-140)

Philadelphia Phillies (-115, 8.5) at Chicago White Sox

There’s no denying that the Phillies offense can be dangerous. In fact, Philadelphia has scored seven or more runs in three of its last five games. However, the Phillies are also seventh in the league in strikeout rate, with the team striking out in 24.8% of its at-bats. Now, these Philadelphia hitters have a matchup with Mike Clevinger, who happens to have some impressive swing-and-miss stuff.

Clevinger already had an eight-strikeout game against the Houston Astros this season, and this is a guy that had 169 strikeouts in 126.0 innings in 2019. However, Clevinger ended up needing Tommy John surgery before the 2021 season. The 2022 season was hist first year back, and he struck out only 91 batters in 114.1 innings last year. But now that we’re further removed from that injury, it wouldn’t be surprising if Clevinger were to start missing bats at a higher rate. The 32-year-old’s velocity looks like it’s trending in the right direction, which is a good sign on that front.

With all of that said, we like Clevinger to go out and strike out at least six batters in this meeting with the Phillies. Everywhere Clevinger has been, the righty has been a much better pitcher at home. And with this one being in Chicago, he should be able to get comfortable and find his groove.

Bet: Clevinger Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+125)

Pittsburgh Pirates (-120, 11) at Colorado Rockies

After a very slow start to the year, Ke’Bryan Hayes is suddenly scorching hot for Pittsburgh. The third baseman enters this one on a five-game hitting streak, and he has had at least two total bases in five of his last seven games. With that said, we’re backing him to hit that mark again on Wednesday.

Hayes is already 3 for 7 with three RBIs in this series, so he has enjoyed hitting at Coors Field thus far. Now, Hayes gets to go up against a left-handed starter in Austin Gomber. Hayes is hitless in four career at-bats against the southpaw, but that’s not something to worry about. The 26-year-old has always mashed lefties, and it’s only a matter of time before he gets to Gomber.

Bet: Hayes Over 1.5 Total Bases (-135)
