Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Tuesday, May 16th:

Seattle Mariners (-165, 10) at Boston Red Sox

J.P. Crawford has reached base in eight consecutive games and nine of his last 10, and the shortstop has also scored five runs over his last five games. Crawford wouldn’t be described as lightning fast, but he’s a good runner and has been effective on the bases throughout his career. That has allowed him to cross home plate more often than not recently.

With that in mind, we’re turning to Crawford to score a run in tonight’s meeting with the Red Sox. This game has a total of 10, so the oddsmakers expect it to be somewhat high scoring. And Seattle is a pretty significant favorite, so somebody on this team is going to score. Why not take a shot on it to be Crawford?

It doesn’t hurt that Crawford has always been a much better hitter against righties and he now gets to face a lousy one in Nick Pivetta.

Bet: Crawford Over 0.5 Runs Scored (-120)

Cincinnati Reds at Colorado Rockies (-130, 12.5)

Brandon Williamson is starting for the Reds tonight, so that means that Kris Bryant will get another crack at a lefty. Bryant is batting just .250 with three doubles, three homers and five RBIs against southpaws this season, but those numbers are bound to get better. Last season, Bryant hit .333 with eight doubles, three homers and seven RBIs in only 66 at-bats against left-handed pitching. And in 2021, Bryant hit .284 with seven doubles, nine homers and 22 RBIs against lefties. He has always hit lefties extremely hard, so he is the player to target in a game with an insanely high total of 12.

If there’s anything to worry about here, it’s that Williamson has had some trouble with his command. So, if he’s walking Bryant then that’s going to make it very hard for the 31-year-old to cash in for us. But we’re still rolling with this play and looking for Bryant to potentially end it with one swing.

Bet: Bryant Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)

Philadelphia Phillies (-120, 7.5) at San Francisco Giants

The Giants are built to hit righties harder than lefties, so Zack Wheeler doesn’t have as good of a matchup as one might think, on paper. However, Wheeler comes into this game after having struck out at least seven batters in three of his last four starts. The 32-year-old is really starting to heat up a bit, and you now have to pay significant juice to bet him to strike out seven tonight. And all things considered, it seems worth it.

This season, San Francisco has the second-highest strikeout rate in the league, with the number being up at 25.4%. The Giants are also striking out 25.2% of the time against righties, so these matchups have been tougher on them than they were last season. With that in mind, we’re just throwing this down and hoping for Wheeler to miss some bats. He has electric stuff, so this should be fun to keep track of.

Bet: Wheeler Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-155)
